@@eddypeacock4005 how are you handling PDEF with this team? Is the issue that he kills you at a random point? Or, can’t handle the sigil phase in time? Or, you reach his enrage attack due to low DPS?
@@eddypeacock4005 while lvl 80 helps, this is a fight that requires access to a lot of PDEF up. Aerith alone can’t handle that, unless you have enough DPS to absolutely blow him up before he can heal. I recommend bringing either Matt with Syringe Rapier or Barret with Assault Gun. My guess is you will want to replace Cloud - I can’t imagine what he’s bringing for this fight other than circle sigil break on Maritime Sword, which isn’t the best weapon for this fight.
Nice! Happy the video is helpful. Not sure if you’ve been playing since Day 1, but Bahamut EX2 came out before all of the other EX1 and EX2 summon fights, so it’ll be the easiest EX summon fights for the foreseeable future. If you’re struggling with some of the other EX fights, you aren’t alone! I still haven’t cleared Ramuh EX2 just yet. Thankfully, it’s all permanent, and we can handle it at our own pace 😀
@@jace743 I'm playing since the release/day 1 (2023.09.07), but I mostly only loginned and played the Events. After the Guild introduction, I have started to finish hard Summon Quests, Battle Tower level 69+ and other "hard/grindy" stuff. I see, so the Bahamut is really easiest. Ramuh looks kinda hard, yeah. Need to do more tries and/or change the team.
I was wondering how people managed to do it with Zack and without Aerith… Well, now I know. That's a very nice guide, and with quite low Power team for EX1. Honestly, I wasn't sure you could succeed with such a low power team, seeing the weapons' OB. :D
Thank you! Honestly, Zack slaps here, fully handling the PDEF mechanic while simultaneously handling MATK or water resistance. Would be even better if my Black Whiskers was at least OB6!
Doesn’t need to be Ivy collar! I think the ice resistance down is more important the fire resistance down. So, that opens things up to Yuffie and Lucia as well, if you have Pinwheel or Bald Eagle, respectively. If you have Lucia’s FF9 event weapon, she can help with AoE fire. For Yuffie, I’d recommend you bring Crystal Cross so she can buff Sephiroth. That would also open up your healer slot to bring someone besides Barret if you wanted to. Other options are out there, is all I’m trying to say :)

It always amazes me how you clear content with sub ob6 gear excluding edged wings here. Pure strategy at best, I tried a brute force attempt with a crazy team and didn't even survive heavensward. Thanks for such a concise guide, glad to see you back ❤

I haven't beaten EX2 yet. I'm running Cloud, Kamura Aerith, Red with no overboost seaside collar. I managed to deplete the gauge thanks to kamura's max boost. I had Aerith apply one stack lightning resist down before seaside collar for max lightning breach. Red debuffed matk maxed. Not sure if depleting the gauge before the countdown finished is adequate. It is a clutched for me to deplete the gauge. With all the buffs and debuffs applied, I still get one-shotted by tidal wave.... I would think at least red would survive given he's the tank, but they all died. I hope it is a glitch, or I need to deplete the gauge even faster so it would actually register. Idk, I placed defeating it on pause. I believe in this setup though. The tidal wave seemed oppressive lol on my run
Was the Tidal Wave cast extremely fast? I noticed that there were situations where it had a slow cast time and others were had a very fast cast time. Whenever there was a fast cast time, it wiped my party with an absurd amount of damage. I figured it was because I wasn’t fully depleting the gauge. My recommendation is that if you can be a bit more reckless with your damage, do that, and use LB interrupted to slow Levi down (if you aren’t already). And then focus on healing once you’re sure the gauge is sufficiently depleted. Alternatively, like you said, you can always just wait :)
I like the live gameplay that we do not see elsewhere anymore, maybe we could go further and discover the dungeon live to see reactions and adaptation in real time but it could mean longer videos and it would have to interest you! Thanks for sharing anyways! Also you clearing this with such low power team & different weapon usage is really refreshing and make me want more and more a tower like gamemode where each weapon is usable only once for X amount of fight to give purpose to them and create theory craft

That weapon is CRACKED for this fight. So good. Any summons that are weak to physical damage will greatly benefit from that weapon. They all attack with magic damage at some point, if they aren’t all fully magic damage.
@@jace743 I’m glad to Aerith get a little bit of that awesome utility that Matt has. She’s been my healer since day one and I was seriously considering switching to Matt until I got this weapon. Still lacking in aeo pdef and patk/matk down but it’s a step in the right direction
She does have AoE PATK down up to mid tier in one cast, but yeah, she still needs a little help, especially with Kamura being a limited weapon. She’s only caught up for people who played during MH collab 😅

Yeah, there was a person on Reddit who was complaining that they were using a built similar to mine, but couldn’t clear it. They didn’t pay attention to the amount of coordination and timing that went into making my build succeed on this fight. I’m sure someone could clear with even less power, but this one is very close.

Quick PSA about my Ever Crisis simulations! Page 3 of the stamp cards in the MH collab banners has one less selectable featured weapon stamp compared to the LB banners. This makes a big difference in the number of crystals you need for OB6 and OB10! The simulations in my video are based on the LB banner, so they *underestimate* the number of crystals you need to reach those overboost levels in the MH collab banners. However, I’ve run simulations for the MH collab banners as well! It’s actually how I noticed the difference in the stamp cards 😅 The results are in @Nitelight9‘s Discord. Join his Discord!
Very interesting vid. Can you explain the math on the chances to get OB6 for limited banners? If we take the current banner for example, if we go through 3 pages, there are four weapons slots you can select, which would get you to OB3, if you pick the same weapon for each slot, which means we'd have to pull 3 non-guaranteed pulls of that weapon to get it to OB6. Each limit weapon has 1% odds, so if you are targeting a specific weapon, on average, out of ten 10-pulls (e.g. 100 total), we'd expect to get 1 non-guaranteed pull of that specific weapon. Granted the math would change slightly based on the pulls taken up by guarantees, wouldn't that mean that it would take thirty 10-pulls on average to get to OB6, which would be 90K crystals? At 63K crystals, you have the odds at 56.8%, and at 63K crystals, you probably have close to even odds of not even making it to the end of the 3rd stamp card, meaning you'd only have gotten 3 guarantees and need to draw 4 more non-guaranteed pulls of the weapon, further lowering the odds. If I check a probability calculator, at 1% odds, after 210 pulls (the equivalent of 63K blue crystals), there is only a 35% chance to get at least 3 of your targeted weapon. Am I missing something?
Thanks! Happy to cover what I can. Keep in mind that I programmed the probabilities provided by the game into my simulator, so I myself didn’t actually do any math. But, I can provide some relevant info. 1. Page 3 of the MH collab banners has one less guaranteed featured weapon than the LB banners. This was a small, sneaky change by them that I haven’t heard anyone else mention (confirmed by my code and LB banner pull videos), and it makes a sizable difference. They replaced page 3 stamp 6 with a guaranteed 5 star instead of a selectable, featured one. 2. Your math doesn’t factor in the 3* and 4* drops for the featured weapons, the rates of which increased compared to other weapons in the pool. These seem insignificant, but they actually add up a decent amount over time. The simulator does 10-pulls until it has enough weapon parts for the target overboost level, not necessarily until it draws the exact number of 5* weapons to achieve that overboost level. So, if it gets a 4* on the last pull, putting the weapon parts count at 1400, it (correctly) stops if the stopping criterion was to reach OB6. 3. I would have to run sims to get the probability of completing three stamp cards in 63k. However, my first guess is that the odds of that happening aren’t exactly low - gotta keep in mind that stamps you can earn on a previous card carry over to the next one, which means multiplying the amount of expected crystals to complete one card by 3 is going to probably overestimate the amount you need (not sure if this is what you did, but highlighting it as a potential pitfall just to be safe). It's crazy how far the power creep has come. I just put up a video myself where I used weaker characters of mine to complete. I went Sephiroth, Yuffie, and Barret as my Healer. I didn't limit myself by using fewer sub equipment like you did, but my Yuffie was only in the 60k power range.
Agreed. It feels like maybe they weren’t expecting people to fully level 80 for this one yet? Or maybe those of us who have been playing for a while are just reeeeeeally strong lol.
Day one player and I’m unable to get past the First Soldier boss so I can’t even unlock this dungeon. Seems like I have to have banner outfits for Matt Glenn and Lucia and I have none. VERY FRUSTRATING WTF! 😡🤬
That boss killed me the first time I fought it, when I went in with whatever “recommended” setup the game gave me. I had to pay attention to the fight, individually set up my characters first the fight, and then go in again. Once I did that, it was doable.
After coming back to this with a clear head 8 days later, I beat it with ease. I’m slowly but surely learning the game mechanics. Just gotta remain patient and learn through the losses 😅

If you’re dealing enough damage fast enough, he seems to skip it. However, I’m not positive that that’s the cause. I don’t know how to do it reliably, and I’ve only seen it, never done it myself.
Totally agree with your sentiment about this event. I’m a light spender, but will quit if they continue trying to make banner pulls be the only win condition for fights.
Hey there! I’m pretty excited for it. I’m heavily considering pulling for Zack, both because I like the character and because I need physical Lightning (as mentioned in the video). But, I’m also excited that they’re doing collabs with other games outside of Final Fantasy. Overall, I’m hyped and optimistic! You?
Yeah; this event and banner combo really rubs me the wrong way. I have a perfectly good wind Aerith setup with OB7 Floral Wand and 5* Cure materia, but apparently I have to use Red or Matt because they're the only characters with limit breaks that remove the five-tier PATK buff in the crash. This banner would be an easy skip for almost everyone if it wasn't paired with the event in such a predatory manner. I also wish Red had had some of these debuff weapons when his Canyon Duds came out. Back then, they were signalling that Yuffie would be a buff/debuff queen so I grabbed her outfit and figured the duds didn't make much sense on Red. However, Yuffie hasn't gotten any more buff/debuff weapons since, and Red got two awesome debuff weapons. Red's is the one outfit I'd most like another crack at if they ever bring back past costumes.
I enjoyed watching someone beat this in the dumbest way possible. Nice work. Hope real life and whatnot continues to treat you well. I have a lot of similar feelings about the game. It's nearly good if they could be a bit more active in tweaking QoL stuff, and maybe speeding up chapter releases somewhat it could be excellent. I am f2p so the tought content is very tough but it probably makes it a more fulfilling experience.
I said I'd talk about Red's Silver Collar and then just... didn't lol. It's an absolutely incredible weapon. Wind Resistance down (mid-to-high at OB0), Water Resistance down (again, mid-to-high at OB0 if more than 50% HP), Diamond Sigil break, highest tier of Healing R ability, Buff/Debuff extension (lowest tier, but that's fine), 3 ATB cost for the sigil break AND double imperil, and FINALLY, a cure-all for Red XIII! That means you can run this weapon and his Platinum Collar to have regen and burst healing at the same time. That's a huge deal. He can now imperil every element in the game except earth, and no one can imperil earth yet. If you pulled for his Canyon Duds like I did (HP + 60% debuff extension), you're sittin reallll good right now.
