I watched this video when it first came out and became a fan of the Escort Turbo. 11 months later I find a clean 1985 black Escort Turbo R/C car made by Nikko. It also has hidden Police lights. It has the original remote and it all works! $4.10 at the local Goodwill. Then I find out that Lady Diana drove a black Escort. Fantastic
I have an '85 2 door Jetta here vin the US. We were only offered the base version here. Mine has over 400,000 miles on it. Stock 1800 engine and a 5 speed. It is in need of work now and some rust repair on the floor. I was told when I ordered it that only 1 in 10 Jettas sold here then were 2 doors. The 4 door ones were very popular here. I put MINILITE EV 2000 wheels on it back in 2002. I put in stiffer Neuspeed springs and polyurethane bushings in the suspension so it's pretty stiff.

I remember when the barn at the back of the start line was open and you could stand behind the jet car! It was disgusting and awesome at the same time. You’d get blasted in the face with all the rubber and smoke 😅

Loved the video, nice to hear from some of the guys racing. I can’t imagine what it must have been like standing behind those jet cars. Even from the stands, the sound they make is like nothing else. To actually stand behind them must have been mind blowing.
Guys , the blue AWD fiesta is now finished, Ive seen it I’ve sat in it and , ive heard it, but I can’t believe it , it’s a monster , this orange one is good, the blue one is just savage by comparison.
