Great! Looks like she should get a General License soon! My wife passed the novice and tech years ago when there was a code test! When they dropped the code and changed the tech she was “grandmothered” into the General. She will not talk on the air like Allison. Keep up the good work. We also have reservations for First Landing near the end of the summer. It’s hard to get in there!
Walt recently purchased a g90. Where. Did you get the stand for the G90 I did by the other stand but like the look of yours have you mentioned on any previous videos? and I may have missed it Tony VK5ADB Adelaide South Australia
WALT, so SWEET, your Wife Allison is a Natural; & you kissed her❤❤😁😊Using Alison reminds me how ATC uses a YL's sweet voice to get things in order! CONGRATULATIONS Allison🎉 You are a Natural "weapon" to get through❤ DO IT AGAIN🎉 CHEERS & 73s 9V1 KM / KK7QGL Ps l❤ve the surroundings😊😊
New HAM here Love! Love your channel! I'm on strike two... same old story...turned it on and works fine, but, not a ham no returns etc... ...ic7200 being sent back back... to seller per Ebay return guarantee. Won a bid on a icom725 for a vintage work horse for a much lower cost... looked at seller this time...his only products are vintage hp radios. I'll get back to ya on success or strike #2... hahaha 😅 thank you for all your charismatic knowledge presenting antenna builds and contacts. I'm emulating you Tenn-Tenna EFHW and building a telescopic vertical with radials mounting on an old heavy duty Bogen tripod for outdoor adventures. Keep up the fun! 73s Mike KK7TPQ
Very cool. I'm just licensed and achieved General, and I'm trying to persuade my wife to study the Technician but she's reluctant, imagining she doesn't retain that kind of knowledge well, so I'm working on it, but I have a question: Since we assume Allison isn't licensed, where does the callsign she used come from? I'd like to give my wife a try on air with me as control operator and I assumed she would just use my callsign, but clearly not in your case. Enjoy the rest of your vacation!
Thanks for the video, Walt. Glad to see Allison takes an interest in your hobby. I think I agree with that one guy... bait and switch. LOL Hey, whatever works, right? 73 KO4QOA
Fantastic post, Walt!! I can't remember that last time I had so much fun watching someone else have fun!! What a treat! All the best to you and your most excellent subscribers...and your XYL, of course!
FYI For just a few dollars more (i.e. $59) one can get an original nanoVNA-H (manufactured by nanoVNA) from R and L Electronics (a nice ham supply outlet). I originally purchased a white gecko nanoVNA. I mainly use it with nanoVNA-Saver on my laptop, but I have been considering getting an upgrade. Curious to know why you did not go with the H4. I had an H4 on my list, but I may rethink about the H. It only $30 more, but that is 50% more. Thanks for your honest input.
Wonderful radio date! My wife has started studying for her tech test. I’ll show her this video. I’ve been using that 12M Spiderbeam to support a multiband doublet. Tough pole. It has handled several tropical storms and near hurricane winds.
thanks for sharing, wow people call me out for using / qrp to get sympathy calls hi hi hi hi, but this is a new one for the book, joking of course, just dont ever let my wife see this hi. My wife ever comes anywhere near my shack, its divorce time. 73 to you both.
great gob Allison ! haven fun is what POTA is all about. I go with my girlfriend and play radio and have fun even if the bands are bad. love that mast ! now you can do 1/4 wave veritable on 40 meters with ground plain . lots you can do with long pole. longer wire on 9:1 ETC. the XYL can either break a pile up or make one. I did that with girlfriend. 73's
I have heard sounds exactly like that when scrolling through the bands. I am surprised I can hear them all the way in Michigan. Makes me wonder if we have something like that along our coastline since the Great Lakes are more like freshwater inland seas.
