Around the 23 min mark, this pastor said that Christ laid down His deity to come in flesh, that is false. That is to deny Christ of the bible. Christ is immutable, He can never not be God. To say that Jesus laid down His deity is to say that Jesus changed. He changed from deity to other than deity, but the bible says that Jesus is unchanging or immutable. In Malachi 3:6 the Lord states that He does not change. In Colossians 1:17 Paul tells us that Jesus sustains all things, so if Jesus laid down deity how would we be sustained? We wouldn't be sustained if He did that. This is further demonstrated in Hebrews 1:3 when the author of Hebrews writes that He, Jesus, is upholding all things by the power of His word. Jesus is immutable, He is perfectly God in deity and perfectly man in flesh. That means while Mary was sustaining Jesus in flesh as a baby, Jesus was sustaining her in His deity by the power of His word. To demonstrate further more Christ's immutability, in Genesis God reveals His redemptive plan with the first promise in Genesis 3:15, when He told the serpent that the seed of man (that being Christ) would crush the head of the serpent. Then in Revelation 13:8 John writes that Jesus was slain before the foundation of the earth. Jesus is unchanging, He is immutable, which by definition He can never not be God, nor can He lay aside deity. That is the Almighty God that we serve my friend. No where does the Bible say that God cannot be God, so to Jesus can't remove His deity; it is unbiblical to make that claim. To say that Christ laid down His deity you would have to exceed the text, or rather take away from the text.

This pastor asked the question how did we get here? (In regards to our fallen state, with regards to racism, but fallen none-the-less). He said it is Satan. Well is it true that Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy? Yes. But he missed a key factor, man's heart. God warned Cain in Gensis chapter 4 that sin crouches at the door and its desire (sin's desire) is to have you. This is true. James 1:14&15 reads, "(14) But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. (15) Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death." NKJV. Sin crouched at the door and its desire was to have Jesus in Matthew 4, but it could not have Jesus. In James 1:13 we see that God can't be tempted by evil. We also know the scripture says not only did Jesus not sin, ever, but He knew no sin. Jesus wasn't acquainted with it or familiar with it. Thus through His death on the cross and His resurrection, if we believe in He overcomes the sin in our life through the His blood spilled on the cross, we too can overcome (not by our might but His!). Before becoming a believer Satan was our father. The bible says that we were dead in our trespasses and sin, inventors of evil things; monsters of iniquity. Dont you see, it is us; our wretched heart of stone. The tempting wouldnt work if our heart was different Jesus is proof of that is Matthew 4. This is why God does a work in us and takes out our heart stone from our flesh and gives us a heart of flesh. Then we confess can confuss Jesus, and then and only then can we stand against the same temptations that once ensnared us so easily. Will we be perfect and sin no more? No, but God's grace is sufficient and His mercies are new every morning. The process of sanctification is a work of God as well, the bible says He will cause you walk in His statues. The bible says that He will finish the good work that He started in you! The problem is us, the enemy capitalizes on the wicked desires of our heart. But now! But now, we have a Savior in Christ Jesus who died and rose again with all power in His Hand. And He will do a work in you. You will go from Satan as your father, to a Holy and righteous God. The bible says that you were once far off but now you have been brought close. You were once called not my people, but now you are called my people and I (the Lord) will be your God. What news! What news indeed!

The gospel over comes racism. Only the gospel has power. Is it great to get to know people's background and cultures? Yes. Is there power in knowing their cultures? No. The passage pastor Bob read the woman at the well in John 4 but he stopped reading at verse 9, the gospel starts at verse 10 in the book and chapter. Racism is a division created by men. However, the division of men by jew and gentile was created by God. Which division holds more weight? The division created God, of course. So if God can bridge the gap in the division created by His hand (which is higher than a division created by man), then how much more can He bridge the gap in a man made division? Much more my friend. How did God bridge the gap created by His hand? The gospel of Christ. Does that same gospel have the power to bridge the division created by men? Yes, abundantly so! If pastor Bob read John 4:39-42 he would have demonstrated the power of the gospel overcoming a division created by God's hand. John 4:39-42 reads: (39) And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, "He told me all that I ever did." (40) So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. (41) And many more believed because of His own word. (42) Then they said to the woman, "Now we believe, not because of what you have said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world." The gospel is so powerful that the woman forgot about the shame of her situation living with a man that wasnt her husband, and she went through the city telling people come see a Man. The gospel demonstrates its power again because not only did the Samaritians hear the word of Christ but they asked Him to stay longer and He stay two more days. When you see the power of the gospel, you will want to tell everyone come a see a Man! When you see the gospel, everything else pails in comparison. The gospel of Christ and Him crucified and Him risen is all we have friends. Lay hold of Him, and He will lay hold of you!

How dare this pastor talk about the bride of Christ this way, he better be careful talking about the bride of Christ like this. Just because a person says this is a church does not mean they are a church. The church is Christ's bride, and if a "church" endorses sin, racism for example, then that isnt a church. The opening of this message the pastor said that the church endorsed slavery for over 200 hundred years. Well if a "church" did that then they aren't a church and were never a part of the body of Christ; Christ's bride. So the conversation in the opening of this message should be correctly identifying Christ's bride. The whole book of 1 John helps with that, for reference. But blaming the church, saying that the church is responsible because they endorsed racism - that is accusing God's bride! God probably won't take to that so well. The bride of Christ is not perfect, but is beautiful. The bride of Christ is being sustained and sanctified by a work of God. And God will finish the work in His bride that He started. Better be careful about how to talk about God's bride. If we as mere men would become enraged by how someone bad mouthed our wives, how much more would a Holy God become enraged by someone bad mouthing His bride? Did people misuse the bible to promote the agenda of racism? Yes! Is that egregious? Yes! Will they escape the warth of a Holy God for do such things? NO!! Are they a part of the body Christ, the church, the bride? NO!!!!!

I strongly dislike how he treated the disobedient to parents, but I understand it because I was shocked to see that in the list. Given how America as undermined authority, it's crazy how many of us are put on evenfooting bc of this verse and a few words. All sin truly is sin.

I preach the same way. Not only one sin but all sins. Romans 3:10-31 King James Version 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes. 19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. Amen. God bless in Jesus' name.
