Stick drift bumper malfunctions loose back paddles that just wiggle in the slot they go in i enjoy using the controller im disappointed and feel lied to about the build quality of the controller i have two of these controllers
Im scrolling through the comments here and Im wondering how the hell do you people burn through controllers so easily? Im aware of the problema with series controllers I had the first, and it just got screwed with weeks of use, yet here my xbox one s controller lasting 6 years and going strong.

I went through two of these pieces of shit in 3 months. The first one was drifting OUT OF THE BOX. The second one however, the right bumper doesn’t work anymore. Switched to a Xbox series controller and although I miss the adjustable trigger lengths, at least that controller actually works. Fuck Microsoft for this overpriced ewaste hunk of junk.
Another thing you have to be gentle with more expensive controllers, clean it every two weeks keep away from drinks and food. Make sure to wash your hands after Don’t get rage and slowly break your controller. You can do that with the cheap controllers like plastic ones.
How about fixing your own controller? It’s not hard to do. You have to adjust the sensor with a special tool. That’s what I do. Also, another thing to reduce drift is to tighten your stick, so you have less chances of drift. More or less complaining more doing.
Just force an update on the controller and keep it still on a flat surface till finished, It fixes it immediately. I’ve had to do it twice in a year. But it works
I'll just say that, aside the drifting, sadly the elite series 2 is built with very cheap materials for buttons and bumpers as well... cannot believe something with this price tag has a single bending cheap piece of plastic for both bumpers. Seriously! Nintendo's pro controller is half the price but at least it's a solid controller!
Just started having this issue. Elite 2. 4 months later. These damn controllers. Seems ps5s are better. Gonna need to take a couple of controllers for when I travel for work.
How do you figure these are the best? I bought a set last summer and, within 5 months, the woofer started making groaning and farting sounds even when there was no sound being played on the computer! Within another month or so, the bass faded out and I haven't had any since! The groaning continued for a few more weeks and then that stopped except for a very quiet groan every couple months! Otherwise, the woofer is dead!! i just heard from another guy today that had the same problem but his lasted a few weeks longer than mine!! Next time, I'll buy Bose!! Those motherfuckers last!! I've got a set of 501's from the early `70's that someone else was throwing away 10 years ago!! They still work perfect!!
Just stick drift? Two out of the four paddles don’t work, I got crazy stick shift, right bumper doesn’t work, and it disconnects from the exbox every ounce and a while. Very disappointed but I’m still going to try and fix it
If you keep complaining about stick drift how about you fix it. Just clean it out or resolder a new one. They use that design cause it's cheap and good for what it is. Just take better care of your control keep it as clean as possible and try your best not to click on the sticks. Buy better sicks and replace them you lose the tension control but you get a high quality stick it's not Microsofts fault if you wanted the best quality it would probably be 200 to 300 dollars because it would cost more to manufacture
I had my controller for about 2 years and I don’t play a lot but first both of my RB and LB stoped working after a few months and I had stick drift I did a few fixes to it myself from RU-vid tutorials and now it’s so loose that I have to turn down my dead zone in every game and the games that don’t offer deadzone fixes are unplayable
Don't forget, the elite 2 was engineered to be ergonomically comfortable for an eight year old. That is what Microsoft said. EIGHT YEAR OLD. You spent hundreds on a controller for an eight year old. I have no drift on my original elite. Have I replaced the bumpers? Yes. Did I mod the bumper to fix the issue of the compliant little bracket breaking? YES. Same with the mounting point for the P1234 PCB Board. Did I modify that as well to never fail again? YES. When I bought a Windows Laptop, I also fixed that by replacing the Windows operating system with Debian. Boots and loads elden ring faster than Windows 10 was getting to log in screen.
They are $50 more normal price today. However, they are still absolutely worth it. I am in love with these speakers coming from 12 year old cheapo speakers. I'm glad I live in a detached home so I can really rock these to thier full extent without neighbor trouble.
Had the same issue on various controllers over the years, not fun to fix BUT i can be done with a $5 part and a soldering iron. So i guess with stick drift (which will always happen over time) you get the option of fixing yourself for cheap, paying someone else to fix it for not so cheap or getting rid of it. Is the xbox elite controller flawed? Yep Is the xbox elite controller any “good”? Mine are yes, very good Is the xbox elite controller worth it? New, NO. Used, yeah i think so but in all honesty the standard controller is way cheaper and for most of us just as good at a third of the price
The sensors are junk, i have to take mine apart all the time and reset them, only to get another week at max out of it, so disappointed, I will never buy another one
It’s 2022 I’ve just bought it last month have no issues with the controller at all never buy it when it comes out buy it last after them issues are resolved
I hope you don't get any issues down the road, I got mine 2 weeks ago and it already has a problem with the A, Y and LB buttons, even though it is supposed to be the revised version (the one with the green line on the box), I am returning the controller this week to get my money back, and after this experience I will never by another elite again, I loved the controller, but I will not throw away my money for a controller that won't last even a year.
I have the elite 2. I can see this controller is absolute garbage.. I used cheaper controllers which have lasted lot longer.. Given the price😡.one thing is for sure. I'll never buy another elite controller ever again. I'll go back to gamesir controllers..
Thanks for this review! Today my 13years old Z523's stopped working, knowing what these went through, I didn't doubt to go for Logitech again. This set is a great replacement for them and for a €79 I can't even bother to look further. Thanks for sharing!
How are they holding up? I had my z523s for 10 years and they were plagued by the cable connection issue so i finally decided to "Upgrade" to the z623 and man they are so shit in comparison. Bass is non existent in low to mid volumes and when it is present it just SLAPS you in the face and otherwise sounds like a tin-can from the satellite speakers. Im going to return them and im eyeing these z533 or the z407 but havent decided yet
You guys are funny…..You game with these controllers like some kind of freaking gorilla then expect for them not to break or start going bad, dude you admitted in this video that you were going through controllers every couple months…that’s the problem right there. Don’t get me wrong I game harder than the average person and have absolutely NO problems with my controllers and I own many, I’ve had the Elite 1st edition as well as the series 2 since they were first released and haven’t had one single problem from neither. You can’t give a bad review because you tear your shit up and expect it to continue to perform as new.
I also had the same horrible experience with the Elite 2, bought it 2 weeks ago and played only Overcooked for 10 hours and it is already showing problems, and from a quick search on the internet it looks like most people have the same problems, thankfully I can still get my money back, it is sad that I has such high hopes for the controller
