Oh no, what's happened to the amazing retro Atari ST esque music? Having conquered this climb and Wrynose pass (East) a couple of years back, I enjoy visiting your channel now and then.
I dropped the music - too annoying! I've kind of dropped the whole project when it comes to making the vids, though I'm still filming the climbs. I'll do more one day...
I cycled this by accident, earlier this year 😅. It's a pretty relentless climb, for sure. I Couldn't quite manage without a quick rest, with my 34/28 gearing.
Looks like a nice one for a relatively easier climb with some respite mid way. I want to do Great Dun Fell but don't feel ready for it and this is a bit closer to where I live in Tyne and Wear as a starter hill. Great channel btw way and more techno music please... haha!
As well as it being an utterly gorgeous climb, set in stunning scenery, what I also love about Blea Tarn is you can use it as a warm up for Wrynose just round the corner, ooof!!
Love this little climb, the first time I did it was from Lowick Green with Hawkshead Hill first to get the legs going. I ripped up this, thinking I was a WT pro then grovelled up Wrynose and Hardknott before a headwind up Austhwaite Brow and Grizebeck Brow finished me off.
@@the318pop yeah, love it, its one of those Lakes climbs that has a real sense of theatre around it like Birker Fell (another fav). . . haha ive done that up Wrynose quite a few times, got really excited going up Blea tarn then regretted it 10 mins later!! 🙂 its why I actually think Wrynose is a tougher climb than Hardknott, whichever you approach Wrynose from Side Gates or Blea Tarn there is something to soften the legs up, and the climb up Wrynose is just relentless, with nowhere to rest, whereas Hardknotts approach is beautifully flat and the middle section affords you a breather where you can get rid of some of the lactate and cool your guns down. . .ive always found Wrynose more difficult overall
A very east midlands climb, 😂 In that it's barely a climb at all by the standards of most cyclists! Nothing compared to Yorkshire, Peaks and Lakes. But having said that, I've been up it 20 times this year, it never feels easy! 😂
yeah I guess. Im not really doing them based on what series they are in, more the area Im cycling in. Im off to Scotland in a few weeks and will be doing some around Skye, but none of the new ones. In general though yeah, if there are some X ones in the area Im cycling I'll do them. My heart kind of sank when he released the new book, I'll never get them all done at this rate!
Mega, love that AONB of the North Pennines. Love going that way on my motorbike. Is the B6278, south from Stanhope, towards Barnard Castle on your list? That's got some great climbs and even better hairpins!
Another great video. And no music 👍lovely to hear the birds and the sheep. Cycling is all about getting out and enjoying the sights and sounds of the countryside.
Looks a really nice climb and I’ve heard it’s going to host the national championships this year. Just my opinion but I think the videos are much better with the music.
