first time making this and it’s so helpful i started a long time ago and stopped bc of school but now its summer and im starting to do it again and love the tutorial!!!
Love this, I'm in the middle of creating my own and am just curious on how you attach the gap in the sleeves (under the armpit)? I can't figure it out 😂 there was a gap but then at 19:51 there's no more gap
I’m not sure if any of the Caron Cakes are accessible in the UK but those are great for hexagon sweaters! I also like a lot of the yarns from Hobbii which ships internationally!
Thanks for replying, yes we can get that yarn ( when I can find a wool shop, none near where I live , so have to buy on line ) don’t want anything too heavy.
Thank you for the tutorial Kayla. It's a great visual. Your tip to slide the corner stitches slightly to find the starting stitch of the row solved my problem. May I suggest giving us the total stitch count after every round as a guide. Thanks!
Hi there, as I'm from Australia we have several Caron cakes but I can't seem to find the exact macchiato colour that you used, so just wanted to know exactly what type of cake it was called, such as Skinny cake, latte cake etc. I assume that the macchiato that you mentioned is the name of the colour way? If you could let me know that would be fantastic, and also where you got it from please? Thanks so much! :)
Hi! The type of cake is Caron Macchiato Cake in the color Serenity. I just checked the Caron website and unfortunately it looks like the macchiato cakes may have been discontinued after only being available for a few months
@@wcwildflowers Oh, that's such a shame, thanks for checking for me though and letting me know. :( I'm glad that you got to make something lovely out of the yarn though while it was still available, shame they didn't think it was popular enough to keep it going.
Hi there, sorry to have to ask something again but am hoping you see this question. At about the 12 1/2 minute mark of the video you say that you have reached the measurement that you need, and then continue on to make four more sides before stopping to then show how to join the sleeves. I wanted to ask, what is the reason for doing those four sides first? I worked out that you are leaving the last two sides because they are what will become your sleeves, however I had worked out beforehand once I saw how the colours were forming for my hexagon, that I wanted it turned/folded a certain way, so where my working yarn sits currently, that will only allow me to crochet one side before it reaches the top where the corner is for joining the sleeve based on how I have it folded. I know you would have a reason for doing those four sides first so wanted to find out what that was, and also what will happen if I only crochet along one side, in order to keep it folded the way I like? I was thinking you did this to extend those sides by a bit but wasn't sure, so if you can let me know why those four sides need to get another row done on top of them before joining the sleeve together that would be really helpful, thanks! :)
Hi, I wanted to ask a follow up question to what I asked in your hexagon jumper tutorial, as I have been following that tutorial and it has been very easy to follow along, so thank you for that! I appreciated your response in the comments section of that but have been wondering, is there a way do you think to add length by crocheting up and down rather than across around the bottom? Every video I've seen does it the same way you did which I can see is probably the easiest way, however I don't like the rows going across and therefore making the stripes go across ways, so have been trying to work out if there's any way to do the rows in an up and down/vertical direction instead? If you have any suggestions at all on this I'd be extremely grateful! Thanks :)
Thank you for watching! Hmm, if you want your strips to be vertical rather than around the bottom you may be able to crochet a panel using the granny stitch and then sew it to the bottom of your cardigan? Every way I can think to add rows directly to the bottom of the sweater would require you to make the rows horizontal/crochet around the bottom
You're very welcome, I really appreciate and enjoy your video tutorials and also appreciate you getting back to me! I had that idea first as well and then thought essentially if to do that I'd need to first make a chain and then make the piece to add on, I wonder if using the method of how you add ribbing to a garment might work, but instead of doing the rib stitch I could make clusters in place of that stitch and then it would essentially be a join as you go method? I think that could work, I'm not sure and haven't had any other ideas, but I'm going to give it a go this weekend and hopefully it will work out! 🤞🏻😊
Brilliant thanks so much for making the video. Making my first hexagon cardigan and was looking for instructions on how to lengthen. Excited to see it finished now. 😀 Any further ideas on how to alter or customise the hexagon cardigan would be gratefully received.
Hi, I wanted to ask a follow up question to what I asked below, as I have been following your tutorial and it has been very easy to follow so thank you for that!
