Don's highest paying fight was against Dick Kimber. Don made $150,000 for that fight. So Don made less than that for this fight, that is criminal how little these guys got paid.
I Wanted So Bad To Watch This Fight!!!!!!! But I Was Celebrating My Birthday..... Took Me 3️⃣0️⃣ Years To Watch This Fight. And I Forgot There Names. I Just Remembered a Fighter Called "The Iceman" I Remember Thinking I Wanted To See The Winner Fight Royce Gracie In The UFC !!
Rufus is an excellent kickboxer, maybe even the best. But in three years, after Changpuek, he did not work on low kick. didn't want to upgrade. Kaman without a Muay Thai arsenal is not an opponent for Rufus.
Both look to be not only masters in their art but true sportsman!! It's one thing to root for someone as is to root against someone; here I was pulling for Jean Yves but certainly not rooting against Kerry. Class acts both:)😊
I think Don destroyed Alexio left leg pretty bad... Also, I thought Don was only good with his TKD kicks, but he was good with punches as well, even though Alexio was very good with his punches.
I watch this when it was broadcasted, and I hated this fight greatly. Never seen anyone move like Roufus. The complete opposite of his fight with Ernesto Hoost.
Funny moment end of 3rd or 4th round :) Close kick near the end, I went "oop" but the end sadly cut off. Was Iron the 9th to survive a full match vs The Jet?
Theriault ..the first Canadian MMA Champion. I remember this fight..never heard so much favouritism from 2 broadcasters…J-Y was probably sparring harder than this fight..
20:02 The Japanese fighter dropped his mouth guard and the ref did not see it. The fighter stood up, and then I think the ref asked him if he's still good to continue, but the Japanese did not respond yet the ref still decided to let both athlete fight.
I fought standard style strong under Asitida Karriem Allah 1972 at 512 Springfeild Ave Newark, NJ. Asitida is a great trainer. Today he has to be about 79 80 years old and still in great shape. Ush to the KA boys RIP Little KA 8th wonder of the world Ush To Wyzair Jerry Steward and Rab Saladeen and Zackery Scott.
This has got to be one of the most unusual fights I've ever seen in either boxing or kickboxing. Both opponents go 12 rounds and hardly have any bruises on their heads. Not sure if the protective gear is the cause because I recall the match of Rick Rufus against a Thai boxer and Rick had to be carried out on a stretcher.
