Fair play for expressing your opinion but if anything, we are underperforming and still winning games. A real sign of a great side, we still have Mings and Kamara to comeback which will be formidable for us. Being Villa, we are use to being under the radar, and I hope it lasts until its too late 😂
Definitely not a purple patch. He’s been performing since he joined the club and built consistency. Give Emery a couple more seasons of building the squad and I can really see Villa winning the league and getting trophies sooner rather than later. It’s what he has done throughout his career
Quincy. This will make up your mind- KAMARA is coming back! Villa are for real ( we are doing very well without our 1st team players like Bailey/ Cash/ McGinn/ Mings and Kamara).
Josh Cullen looks good for $1. He’s just back from injury and gets good AA. He’s also a guaranteed starter, and I think he’ll smash in the championship after he wasn’t great for Burnley in the Prem last year
raul fernandez. Mirandes goalkeeper i believe i currently have him in my team. He costs about a fiver. But has had LOTS of clean sheets and shot 60 i think 6 games in a row. Cheap beast for contender
Diogo Leite from Union Berlin seems a decent option for £1-£2 in classic, Union look good defensively so far this year, and getting a defender gives you more option to choose the smashers going forward in the Bundesliga!
Aston Villa fc are back & are the real deal for sure 100%,our great club has real togetherness nowadays with top level people in all areas at the club & under an elite manager in Unai Emery are cooking up something special. Villa are on the up & will be challenging at the top for the long term, we're on the verge of achieving success, just mark my words.... up the fuck'in Villa!!! 💪💜💙⚽✌️😁
The critism comes from a lack of understanding of a building process and taking time to put the pieces in place, training the players, putting them into the fire to practice. Ange is playing a ling game, the fans have the memories of gold fish. There is a hysteria against losses etc. To dare is to do, really?? Ange defends from the front and attacks from the back. Now he has Solanke, a top defender, Mickey van der Missile, a top attacker, Brennan Johson is up to speed, Bentancur is so so solid, he can move Kulu into the middle, and the team can suffocate the opposition. The expectation of high results during a building phase is absurd. Check their stats out for the season. Now there are progressing with Angeball, they can work on their finishing. Honestly, guys, preface your comments with, "at this stage"
I wouldn't agree with it being a purple patch. Id say its not a purple patch is because we have been consistent for 2 years, the odd few games towards the back end of last season were we looked a bit shit but overall we've been very consistent
In my opinion we're on the right path, building a team to compete at the highest levels. So keeping that in mind my expectation is that we will have odd results, below par and then over the top amazing performances and everything in-between. We want to be a pain in the arse team to play against no matter how good or poor you are. The top teams are consistent, that's our next objective, along the way we are aiming to minimize my our losses as you described. The future is looking good no matter the result of any match.
Since Emery came in Villa have rarely strayed from 3rd to 5th form across the two years. 4th is where the club is now, will be interesting to see if there is the capability to grow further and challenge around 2nd or 3rd.
Yeah mate under Unai Emery Villa are averaging 4th place in the premier league, don't underestimate Aston Villa fc nowadays under Unai Emery, people are still confusing the current Villa with the mismanaged Villa of the past, it's not that version of Villa anymore, but a completely different animal altogether.... up the fuck'in Villa!!! 💜💙
One thing that many commentators miss is that our central midfield pivot has lost the two players that made us so effective last season. When we lost Kamara with a long term injury our form suffered as we tried, unsuccessfully, to reimagine the midfield with McGinn or Tielemans alongside Luiz and neither option worked particularly well. We lost the effectiveness of both players by dropping them back and neither were as good as Kamara in front of the back line. PSR then meant we had to sell Luiz so we've had no choice but to rebuild the midfield with Onana alongside Tielemans and McGin shunted to the right as Bailey is injured. You point out that we are very well organised, and we are, but that takes hundreds of hours on the training pitch and Onana and Barkley are yet to get up to full speed with the intricacies of our build up and counter press. When Kamara returns to full match fitness we will be more press resistant in the middle and defensively sounder. We probably overachieved last season. but finishing top 6 would still be an admirable return for a club that was 18th and heading for relegation before Emery arrived.
Why would Villa not beat Bayern Munich at home when they beat the top 2 premier league teams at home last season? Villa are really good against the top teams.
it comes down to injuries, i think. on paper, we are as deep as any team in the league. but if he starts Duran and Watkins against Man U, with McGinn Ramsey Bailey Cash (maybe) Onana (maybe) injured, our bench starts to look rather thin. we really need Kamara and Mings to start getting on the bench, at the very least, and soon. having said that, we've seen what Unai Emery was able to accomplish last season with a large injury list. hopefully it doesn't come to that. UTV
We've been ok and looked good in parts of games but I don't think we've truly clicked yet. Bailey seems to be carrying an injury, Kamara is on his way back, Buendia was pivotal in our run to 7th the season before last and is just starting to get minutes again, Ramsay has been injury hit so far. Our main issue is the inability to keep clean sheets in the league, sort that out and we should be solid again.
What you are witnesssing is a strong club with a plan. Backed by owners reinforced by a manager and his staff aswell as supporters backing the club to the max.
I think as a Villa fan I probably have similar thoughts. But last year I felt the same when we got to November December and had Spurs, Arsenal, and Man City on the Horizon, and we absolutely smashed it. Emery and this team have consistently shocked me with their brilliance, more than shocked me with underperformance. I think we're on for a very good season. Top 5, knock out CL games and potentially a domestic cup final.
Great video. Could I ask what software u were using for your team analysis? Boxing day period will determine whether Chelsea are a top 4 team or genuine title challengers.
