The Kobe incident (神戸事件, kōbe jiken), also known in Japanese as the Bizen incident (備前事件, bizen jiken) and in English as the Bizen Affray or Bizen Affair. Some view it as the starting point of Meiji Diplomacy.
The current English translation on the bronze plaque in the front of Sannomiya Shrine is mine. One of my English students brought the assignment to me while I lived there between 2006 and 2010!
Omg memoriesssss!!! That was my first race! I didn't make it that time, but did Kobe marathon a second time the year after and made it!!!! You make running look so fly girl 🤩 !
Yes 🙌🏽 it was such an adventure! That’s great that you got revenge! Thank you! I gotta get back to running. The goal of the marathon is what kept me consistent.
Nice interview, Epi. It always cool to see people pursuing financial independence. I'm aiming for FIRE myself. Fun fact, I've met Chi before through my partner. Small world.
Thank you for such an enjoyable and inspiring interview! I felt I was at the table with you two and it is so nice to see women entrerpeneurs helping others out. Keep up the entrepreneur theme, love it!
Thank you Denise!!! That’s super encouraging! Because of the pandemic I haven’t been able to do many of the videos I usually do like events, and restaurants so I came up with this new theme. I’ll keep it up 👍🏽 ❤️
I just finished watching your video. I appreciate the information you presented. I'm a vegan from New Jersey. I hope to maybe collaborate on information and content in the future. My Instagram is @herfirstbornson ...
Great review. Quite pricey but yes, ok for the location. How are you finding the portion sizes in Japan? I always feel hungry after eating "normal" meals in Japan - I am used to bigger portions!
Thanks for watching! Haha I felt the same when I first moved here but since then I’ve gotten used to the portions here. This meal was satisfying enough. Although I did get the dessert and coffee so without those I may have needed another side.
@@EpiinJapan if it's Wakayama city, then maybe Wakaura beach. Bagus beach bar is a fun place to go. If it's Wakayama prefecture... I couldn't choose... The onsens maybe. Saki no yu in Shirahama, Yunomine onsen on the Kumano Kodo... Love Wakayama!
I love hot springs! I used to live close to Kinosaki onsen. Thank you! I’ll definitely make it a point to visit those places in my next visit! Wakayama is so underrated.
Really enjoyed watching it. I wouldn't pay that much for a rice bowl unless I'm really hungry, but even that it is a lot of money. That being said, I'd pay for the atmosphere and to support organic, vegan restaurant options. It does look delicious and balanced.
Thanks for watching! Yeah, I thought 1500 yen was a bit pricey but to be fair all the ingredients tasted very fresh, the atmosphere was very nice and also it's rare to find a vegan taco rice bowl around Kobe. That's a good point about supporting vegan menu options. Hopefully, it will push more restaurants to offer vegan options!
So there was such a thing in the history of Sannomiya Shrine, wasn't there? For some reason, this land reminds me of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.
