Hi, thank you for the video. I am incoming transfer this fall and I got Holly. Very informational because there is not a lot of videos for transfer tips.
hi, I’m gonna transfer this fall 2024 and I opted for transfer llc dorms but I heard it’s hard to get a double even though I put it as my first option in my ranking followed by a deluxe triple. I was wondering if you know how likely it is to get a double, because I’m trying to find a third roommate in case I get a triple but don’t want to ditch them if it so happens I get a double! Sorry that was a lot!!
Hi! I completely understand, when I applied I opted for the triple so it was easy for my group to get a room. I had some friends who lived in doubles and I believe it had to do with first come first serve. I'm not 100% sure how the system works, but my friends and I just tried to do it ASAP and we got our first choice both years ( I lived in gayley heights my 4th year). Hope this helped!
@@brooklyngrensted8805 Hi! It's on the housing application itself. It'll be a page called Live Learning Community under "Transfer Experience" which is De Neve Holly (Deluxe triple & doubles). The page will have various drop-down menu options for LGBTQ+, American Indian and Pacific Islander, First gen, transfer etc. ONLY PICK 1 if you want a specific community. I believe if you pick multiple, you may not be placed in the option you wanted the most because there's no ranking for it. Here's their page on reslife: reslife.ucla.edu/living-learning-communities
Hi! I transferred out of a Socal CC and applied as Pre-Psych with a 3.8 GPA. I was pre-health so I had a lot of experience working/volunteering in hospitals and made sure to note I worked throughout the pandemic. I'm sorry for the late reply, I hope everything went well with your application!!
Tysm for this !! :D one question- is there a specific choice you need to select on the housing application that ups your chances of being in a transfer dorm? I really want to but I’m scared of not getting an offer for it 😖
Hi! I would suggest ranking deluxe triple/deluxe doubles as your first choice considering the transfer dorms only has those two options. I’d also suggest only opting for one LLC rather than multiple since it’ll ensure you’ll get into the transfer one. Lastly, if you have roommates in mind you would all need to have the same room type rank and opt for the same LLC. Hope this helps!
