😃GeologyDude shows rocks in a 360-degree format (uses a mesh of 300 photos per video minute). This IS NOT an A.I. channel.

🤘Hello, Rock People! I'm the Geology Dude--Dave Knoblach (former tenured geology professor). Geology isn't rocket science, it’s Rock Science! Geology is fascinating and easy to understand. 🪨 Rocks are important to history, architecture, and economics. Geology is as amazing as science fiction--but it actually happened! Please subscribe to this channel!

😍The GeologyDude Community page features additional rock information/quizzes. Most of the #shorts videos here are not narrated. But for rock identification information related to #shorts videos, click the three-dot "kabab/meatball" symbol (…). This is located near the outside corner of the RU-vid video screen area (the descriptions are translated into many languages).

👍This channel is educational. I no longer work as a geologist. 🤔You must hire a professional geologist for info related to your specific property

Why so smooth & rounded? Would one find this in a river bed?
@GeologyDude
@GeologyDude 12 дней назад
Yes, you are correct! It was found in a river bed, but I decided to break an end off to show a fresh surface on the inside too.

Yes, it is different but characteristic of those grist stones. The chert usually is not found in large enough sizes to cover an entire grist stone.

Thx! It’s an item most folks normally can’t see. Also, it was a difficult location-lots of water near it that 360 degree programming doesn’t like

There`s a lot of petrified wood in the soil in NW Louisiana and we used to find petrified palm pieces in streams in central Louisiana along with a lot of rocks containing sea fossils. Plus there are places in this region where you can dig down a couple of feet and find black shark teeth and lots of pieces of coral. In Columbia north of my area they found the bones of entire whales.

Ha ha. On my shorter videos, that don’t have narration, I typically have music. I put lots of notes in the video description area though. These “object spins” often take days to make. I eventually put them into a longer narrated video. But I often like to post something more promptly

This is from private land in Central Washington in the Vantage area-east of the river. I’ve heard that there are some places in California where it is too, but I am not certain. I hope that helps. Are you in Washington?
