Here are some favorite artists. Most are quite rare recordings or performances -- hopefully, some excerpts you have not heard before. Feel free to share your comments on these artists.
I have a great admiration for Eileen Farrell, Nan Merriman, Lois Marshall, Maureen Forrester, Peter Pears, Léopold Simoneau, Hermann Prey, and Benjamin Luxon, among others. It is a rare gift to be a good recitalist and these artists are that and so much more!

For many years I have been involved in the art of ikebana - Japanese flower arrangement. As you can see, my arrangements fall into a modern free-style. I hope you become acquainted with this great art form and lifestyle.
A really wonderful recital by a somewhat forgotten singer these days. What a beautiful timbre he displays here, and there is nothing mannered or artificial about the performances. The current generation of lieder singers would do well to listen to this.
Thanks for this. Footage of Desmond Dupre is all too rare. Self taught lutenist & viol da gamba player, an early music pioneer no one mentions. Still my favourite lutenist despite all the many who've come since. The most eloquent touch.
Hello KadoGuy Thank you for psting these recordings. I studied with a few of them ( Kraak en Altena) but my first and favorite teacher was Adi Le Gue, I see you have another recording of a Ravel Opera with Le Gue. Do you know of any other recordings with Adi Le Gue?
Norman was one of the kindest, most decent men and one of the greatest singers I ever knew. I was lucky enough to have him as my voice teacher and after my own 32 year international career, due in a large part to Norman’s guidance, I strive now to pass on his wisdom to my own students. Dearest Norman….never to be forgotten. ❤
Powerful !! A wonderful work ! What a fantastic sound!!! This is a Big, Big Deal !!! Great Performers, amazing recording ! A Masterpiece Definitely !!!!

Lovely to hear this, thank you. Helga’s beautiful artistry shines through despite the recording quality. After retiring from her career as recitalist she became a sought-after singing teacher in the 1970s -80s, working eight hour days, always employing pianists (Roger Vignoles, Antony Saunders and Mark Elder were regulars). I was lucky enough to learn from her - unforgettable.
Drinking gourds were placed hanging from trees and sometimes really high in the tree. If you find one on the ground it was a warning to stray from the trail because of some type of danger. If a drinking gourd had a bird feather that told them there were chickens nearby so be quiet when Passing through.
He makes most other tenore leggeri sound like amateurs! A young soprano and I had a coaching with Mme. Alarie on the duet La ci darem from Don Giovanni. To demonstrate the acting Mme Alarie sang most of it with me. They both appeared in that opera here in Vancouver In 1959, with Joan Sutherland making her N/ American debut as Donna Anna.
...Именинник 10июля! Happy BDay!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
