Lemme spin you a devastating story about this race... On my first run of World Tour in this game, after having my skills and patience tested to the limit, I finally reached the last mission - Arcade Annihilation. It predictably put up a brutal fight, but after a handful of attempts I managed to gain a commanding lead. Final lap; I drove through the last portal, the one that would warp me straight to the finish line...or so it was supposed to. What happened was, instead of flying through to the other side, i somehow phased past the portal, reaching the end of that stretch of road and crashing into the invisible wall. I was in a panic, trying desparately to get back in the race, but I was blocked off by ANOTHER invisible wall on the other side! I watched in shock and despair as my huge lead slowly dwindled down to the dead rear of the pack. All my hard work, pissed away by this fascinatingly terrible bug. I didn't touch the game for a good few months after that. My heart was shattered like the stained glass in that one race in Curien Mansion.
The mission with Burning Depths on A Class can kiss my hide. The course is difficult as it is without all the bullcrap getting thrown at you from the other racers. Bullcrap such as and up to surprise long shots, shunting you into walls making you lose your momentum, and some of the WORST RUBBER-BANDING I HAVE EVER SEEN! You could be frontunning for 2 whole laps, then suddenly the game gives another racer a random burst of speed, allowing them to overtake you on the last three turns, and they have no problem staying there for the rest of the race! The game is still fun, and I enjoy my time with it immensely, but man, when it gets cheap, it gets REALLY freaking cheap.
So stupid this video was a European and Japanese exclusive, as if Americans weren't worthy of the Collector's Edition or this video. Stupid Sega always making idiotic decisions. Thanks for uploading this, I only now find out about it 13 freakin' years later!
With the announcement of Super Mario Party Jamboree and an upcoming release date of Sonic X Shadow Generations (that name is horrible btw, pls change it SEGA), I decided to make a Playthrough of Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed. Ah, yes Generations. One of the best Sonic Games of all time and my #1 favorite Sonic Game. Yea, I know people say HD Unleashed is the best, but I haven't found a way to play it yet. I think it's the best because it has the best level design, another great soundtrack as always, decent controls, no game breaking glitches (aside from this part at 11:20), and gorgeous graphics. The stuff I don't like in this game is that the story is pretty bad, the Time Eater Boss, and how short this game is, but those are pretty minor negatives as the game is still a timeless classic. (See what I did there?) For this playthrough, I'll be playing the Steam version recorded at 1366x768 and the video will be upscaled to 1080p so at least it won't look as blurry. this game should have been a time attack RPG... i was so disappointed when i played the game... time was a factor but not in a good way... waiting for a door to open.. beyond annoying. I wanted speed LIKE lightning!
