They have an internal baffle. The pipe looks great but is ridiculously loud. You can put in a DB killer insert that mellows it out a lot but totally kills the torque band in the mid range. I confirmed this on the dyno. I had a 10 ft pound dip 3300 to 4200.
Usually it’s either suspension or alignment. It’s not the design. Every bike is designed just right, most of use don’t keep our own vehicle in good condition until it breaks.
My '86 fxr just pulled a stud from the case. Using s&s cases with my original undamaged parts would cost about as much as a new motor. So.....I just ordered an s&s 111. Can't wait. If I see you at the next Borne Free I'll say "hi."
