Do you have a Facebook or instagram account? I have some more detailed questions I’d like to run by you about the dog work and some cover questions. Thanks!
@@neilrobinson1991 just created one, plan on added instagram before fall. HuntMn on Facebook facebook.com/profile.php?id=61563261485874&mibextid=LQQJ4d
The Hornady Precision Hunter shoots flatter than the Federal. That's why you had to aim more bottom to compensate for less bullet drop thanks to the ELD bullet design.
2 things. If you look at the FB marketplace, you can find a fillable/drainable lawn roller, to pull behind your atv or even use it by hand walking it. And I've never heard of using ash as a "lime". Great idea, it seems like. Plus its free. Im in central wisconsin and gonna be doing a couple of brand new plots on a fellow veterans' property along with some hinge cutting this year. Great video. Simple and you explained your process very well. Ill be watching you more.
Excellent video..I've heard ,that if you mow ,wait a week to get everything regrowing again, then spray it ,the plants absorb the roundup better ,or mix a little bit of liquid nitrogen in spray mix ,which fools thecplants into absorbing the roundup quicker
Do you have any tips in hunting in the snow like Mid December in Michigan, I don’t want to be walking endlessly for nothing and don’t know what to look for
Grouse are going to be feeding heavily on buds. Young aspens and birch are great but they will also really group up in areas with heavy brush. Creek bottoms can be really good, not a big change from the late October habitat.
What’s up, leaving a subscribe. Not far behind you on subs. Trying to get to know fellow RU-vidrs in hope some day we get big enough to maybe do some Calabs
Congrats man! Still looking for my first with a bow. I missed one yesterday because I was seated in a tree stand. Here’s hoping we’ll get the next one! Best of luck for the rest of the season.
Hey Dan as a lifetime bow hunter I have a small bit of advice for you, 1. Practice from your stand. Elevation makes a difference vs flat on the ground. Sitting and standing makes a difference. 2. Practice in the clothes your going to hunt with. Rain suit, coverall, coat whatever you will wear in the field. You may find you have to adjust yourself with different clothing. Just afew words of advise man. It will happen just take your time. Good luck!!
Definitely have to get creative as a father of 3. Sometimes you get only an hour sit, sometimes the boys come to the blind with me. If we have doe tags I alway try to get 1 or 2 before gun season!
@@HuntMN that's the way to do it! I'm only father to one 1.5yo daughter, but I know when she gets older I'll be in the same boat or more concerned with her filling her youth tags instead of mine.
Love it,,you are a brush monkey!! I have had a good season so far,and we have no birds,,so many hunters and hobbiest😠it's like the suburbs out here,,but thanks for showing some birdie goods,,😊
I dont know if you know anything about Montana grouse hunting, but I always see grouse alone and only see a few every time I go out. Usually I only get around one a day.
Well I’m gluten free so my cooking is pretty boring. Fried up with onions, garlic powder and a little bbq. Sometimes throw some sweet potatoes in there. I miss some of the old recipes I used to be able to eat!
@@HuntMN You are very blessed. I miss training my dog and the dog working as well as the thunder of the flush. Not to mention my wife and I loved to fix them for dinner. My favorite hunt and wild meat.
They are terrible right now. I’m only using the topical treatment that you put between their shoulders. I reapplied after 3 weeks and my dog is still getting a lot. I need to go back to the oral pill, that lasts the entire hunting season and worked much better.
Been checking out your videos, recently moved to central MN from IL and trying to get out solo hunting Grouse for the first time. I don't have a dog, any areas or advice in general would be awesome! Love the content!
Watching the videos should give you a pretty good idea what kind of cover you want to be focusing on. Young aspen from wrist to forearm size are great, focusing on transitions between that young cover, and swamps, mature pines, or areas of heavy brush. Not knowing exactly where you are It’s hard for me to tell you if you can go out and hunt right by your house or if you need to head further north.
@@HuntMN Thanks for the reply! I'm near St Cloud for the largest major city nearby or Sherburne Wildlife Refuge which I've been trying to find some in. Few hours here and there after work mostly.
@@cheddercaveman you are definitely pretty far south, not saying you couldn’t find pockets of birds, but a day trip a couple hours north would put you in significantly better grouse country.
Good shootin man! I just shot my first ruffie on the wing over my springer spaniel yesterday! Took many years to be able to catch up to these birds, not easy. Unfortunately my dog ate the bird on me :S still got some work to do as he's only a puppy lol
