I saved this one for after my shift, been looking forward to it all day :) There's just something very comforting about watching you play. Thanks Chris!
I really didnt even bother playing this map, even on easy. I had enough with other hota maps cheapness and playing as inferno on a map that constantly give stat boosts to enemy ais, just, NO THANK U
They rewrote the code for succession war mod, no longer using WOG but complete edition, i think they will release an update sometime next year, there might be a beta client but i don't know if that's open to public.
A wee bit late to the party here but posting in case it may be useful for someone coming later and want to try themselves. You're kind of screwing yourself over technology wise. You keep doing raids over and over to improve your score and then destroy buildings to lower it in order to limit technology progress, but that approach doesn't work, because the technology for battlescape and cityscape are tracked seperately. By destroying the city, you're preventing the progress of the UFOs but you're doing nothing to limit your battlescape progression. If I had to guess, you're already on tactical tech6 at this point in the game, and ship technology is I'm sorry to say, largely irrelevant. It makes no matter to what kind of ships you get, that's all on a timer. It only affects the equipment, where the ships get disruption, cloak and finally teleporters. In the case of superhuman, at 1k (small disrupt), 2k (large disrupt), 4k (cloak) and 8k (teleport). Every way to limit score in battlescape, ultimately costs money. You can kill civilians, which gets you hated which means you have to buy standing which costs money. Or you can sacrifice your soldiers, which means you have to hire more, which costs money. Or you can leave all your gear that isn't new tech before mission over. That costs money to maintain because you now have to buy what you need for every mission, which costs money. What you CAN do, is hiring target dummies. Because you see, you get -10 score for a rookie dying. But you get -20 if they die to friendly fire. But the best part, unlike the earlier games, in apocalypse the shooter gets both experience from killing, and accuracy for hitting a target, even though they're friendly. So if you have the money to spare, go raid with 2 or 3 guys you want to actually train, together with as many fodder as you can afford. Do as much of the mission as you can without actually finishing it, then shoot your own agents for that juicy exp, accuracy, and score "bonus". Ultimately though, the idea of maintaining your economy through raiding, while it works for your economy, also skyrockets alien tech level very VERY quickly. The only known ways to "farm" money with no drawback, is the xcom chop shop tactic you did in an earlier episode. It works with every vehicle, it's just more or less profitable with some. Oh and while I'm at it... The whole "have to lower these guys money"... Is completely irrelevant. The only 2 corporations where their finances have ANY sort of impact on the game. Is government and xcom. That's it. Xcom for obvious reasons, and government because you're limited to a maximum of half their current cash on "payday". No other faction's money mean diddly squat and have absolutely ZERO impact on anything in the game. It was a belief that it impacted market values, but the game has since been completely reverse engineered and there are absolutely nothing that makes use of any other corporation's money in any way. The sole purpose it exists for, is for you to be able to know roughly how much damage you've dealt to that particular corporation. That's it.
Also, compared to knights, a demon lord is much more better for the ballista build, since he stacks a lot of attack points during his levelling (knights are kinda the opposite, unfortunately in this regard)
02:06:50 if you get flaming arrows her ballista will hit like a monster (imagine besides the stats she got to ignore completely enemies' defenses + that fireball specialty)
Hi Chris! Nice video as always. Would you consider redoing a run of Baldur's Gate 2, but only with evil characters? Thanks for your channel. Gracias, amigo 😊
Man.. buy some troops in those cities. This is painful for a beginner to watch. Gold in the bank isn’t doing you any good and a token defence would have saved hours.
When you're complaining about the "trash items" you got, you do realize that your main hero is exactly the one class in the whole game that can use the least amount of items, right? The deck is stacked against pure wizards in this regard.
Well, I was using earth spells and they add +50% to the earth spells. Now I'm really not using damage spells much so I probably should remember to switch them.
A nice trick to see to which town you will be portaled is to place a hero in one of the town, if the town portal spell is grayed out, it means that town is the destination of town portal.
Regarding navigating the map, I'm pretty sure if you can find out where you're trying to go you don't need to figure out the path to get there. Just click to wherever you're trying to go and the auto-path should figure it out even if you have to go through multiple teleporters to get there.
Can you abuse huts with the memory mentor? What happens if you go to the huts, then use mentor to trade the skills out for something else, and then go back to the huts?
31:41 You might be talking about me, here's my previous comment: "I don't know if you are aware but each faction is locked into having guaranteed spells from two magic schools, for academy it's summoning and light and since higher magic guilds only give two spells, the only exception is having library for academy of course then you may get other magic school spell of higher tier." Sorry for confusion. But with the exception of academy level 4 and 5 of some schools are locked for specific towns ie. Sylvan will always get destruction and light magic at level 4 and 5 since those levels normally come with only two spells.
Depends if my damage is coming from my hero or my army, In the early game it was my hero so making my troops move faster didn't do too much. Now later I probably want to equip that ring.
Yo Chris, btw, Songs of Conquest 1.0. came out a while ago, with a new DLC coming, as a Heroes veteran it might be worth diving into, giving the game maybe a final chance, I've heard a lot of good about it around, but I'd like to see you play it again.
I'm curiouse - why you wanted to level up only when enough skill points to raise water to 12 and dark to 4? why not to level up when level up is available?
