Makes me wanna get in my convertible and hammer down the road with this tune on loud. An awesome song in an awesome show. I am born 95 but wish I was young in the 80s..
This particular episode is a perfect encapsulation of the war on drugs. It's an unwinnable war and the price to wage it is incredibly high. My favorite episode and scene!
This is the only scene I remember from the whole series and somehow it got into my feed. So random. Definitely want to watch this show as an adult, I didn’t fully appreciate it as a kid.
Who remembers going to Disco's dressed like Crockett in their pastel shirts and trousers trying to look cool like Don Johnson and trying to impress the girls - never worked for me...
MV at it's finest - never to be reproduced. Was in Tally at the time but a Ft Laud bud and I did the same run in Miami a year later - hot, humid, sweaty, fast, and slick. Our .45's loaded and ready. Recreating the magic a bit. But there was only one Johnson and Philips!
80s were mad, refreshing and great, fab tunes which 4 decades on still touches a cord. Miami Vice embodied the soul of that era , and half . No substitute, Farrell & Foxx ?? Not even close😂
Miami Vice was far from a flawless show, but this is one of the most compelling TV scenes ever. The distinguished guest stars. The sound effects - roar of the engine on the lonely streets, ominous rolling thunder, the music synchronised. The multiple aspects of life - masculinity in particular, I would argue - touched on in a single scene - dedication, righteousness, obsession, brotherhood, loyalty, tragedy.
I came home one night on a Friday night after hanging out with some friends (maybe after a Soccer game, don't remember). My father was watching this episode and we watched it transfixed for the duration. Never thought TV could be this cinematic.
Miamai Vice. The best cop show hands down ever. The 80's had the best music, clothes, hair, women, cars, and just all around quality of life. Everybody went batshit crazy in the mid 2000's.
If I remember correctly, I believe Harvey Keitel or maybe Dennis Hopper was supposed to play that part but backed out pretty near shooting time because he wanted more money. Bruce McGill totally nailed this part! Good thing he did it!
I never saw much of MV mostly because I had better things to do than stay home and watch tv, but buddy smashing the wall looks like my friends that did way too much blow and acted completely insane, like stevo was! Dude in the wall looks like Jim Carey in Mask
