Hopefully helping you Learn to skate vert, skateboarding tips and tricks from a 50+ vert and bowl rider. I did the trick a week series for 50 weeks, I am just taking a little break But I will be back with more tricks (hopefully) and tips on the vert ramp and bowls in my area.
Fairplay to you mate, im 50 next year and still sk8ing, not vert like yourself but still having a roll...super inspiring watching you too...keep it up while the body allows 😁..greetings from Bristol, UK.
Very nice. I grew up skating in the 80s and was super lucky to have a rich neighbor that built his son a huge vert ramp just like this. It was so cool to have access to something like this a few doors down. Sure everyone that skates your ramp is just as stoked as I was.
Thats rad, unfortunately it took until I was 48 to get mine, but better late than never. I know they all love it but I think I get the most stoked seeing them ride it. 👊👊
Sweet ramp! I just got my dream come true last year. With a debacle between the city and federal government here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. City had to move their million dollar paved pump track just outside my backyard. Instead of the intended space along the river pathway. Due to denial of Access of federal lands. Forced them to build a pump station along the river. Good deal for me. 😊
Hey mate. The ramp is in Australia 🇦🇺, nearly all of the clips on my channel are on this ramp, but it went from green ply to the redz skate surface. But still the same ramp. 👊👊
50 year old who isnt going to be enjoying life very much after skating a vert ramp at 50. Everyone ive ever known that built a ramp after 50, eneded up injuring themselves, and never skating again.
Thank you for your comment 🙏 I built the ramp at 47 ready for my 48th birthday and I will be 52 soon and I have enjoyed every minute of riding it over the last 4yrs. I will continue to do so as long as my body and mind let me. Injuries are unfortunately part of skateboarding so fingers crossed 🤞 I get away with it for a little longer , but if not we all know you have to pay to play. Thanks again. 👍
Use 2 layers of 3/8", stagger joints and bend in the short direction of the sheet. Sheets of ply are typically made of odd numbers of alternating ply directions, with the majority of ply grain running in the long direction - so naturally, bending along the short length makes it slightly easier.
I had two layers of 12mm(1/2in) marine ply. Was a mission to bend. Never thought of going sideways. I should have staggered more joints. Thanks for the tips. 👊👊
This might be bullshit but I’ve heard if you go longways it skates faster because you’re rolling with the grain. Though I’ve always gone short because it bends better.
Renton Millar! I was at Woodward around 2008 with a couple of buddies for the weekend and there was only 1 guy skatin vert as well and it was Renton. Super nice guy and he was killing the 14 foot ramp.
Hey mate, great to hear from you, I hope you are well. Thank you, I really appreciate that. It's nearly 4yrs old now. And I love it. If you are ever in Australia hit me up. 👊👊👊
Sussudio, Easy Lover, Don't Lose My Number, Tarzan Soundtrack. Just when you think Phil Collins is done, he builds this massive half pipe. The rolling stone gathers no moss. ✋️👁🤚💌
