Maybe a part missing is showing the instruments setting in order of procedure, starting with the basic set up, discoid-cleoid etc so you can showing passing instruments following each step :). but in general its very helpful, thank you for doing that.
How do you floss the back of the teeth on the bottom? You almost have to hold the flosser upside down and then the solution won’t come out of the top. What am I missing?
Yeah im not sure why dental assisting is even available as just an online course people anyone wanting to do dental assisting school online dont do that people like literally dental assisting is something you have to have hands on training doing online schooling only and then going to get a job and working on real patients is not gonna work out well for you and that office is gone have to train you with all the hands on stuff its all hands on work your wasting your money doing just and online program then having to retrain on a job
I feel like yall are really pushy like all the “you should already have that in your brain” most dental assistants programs are short af and rushed af my program is 12 weeks im on week 8 and i still don’t know wtf im doing theyre so much you have to remember all the different instruments and all the different things you need for tray setups is ridiculously crazy like its a lot this definitely isn’t a program that should be rushed but it is
Hello so i went through dental school and did my internship. When i went out job searching i was not prepared and did not remember my teeth numbers and how to set up instruments along with passing. I got a job as a dental assistant they told me they would train me. During this time my brothers car broke down so i was driving him to work and the dental asistant job i was in was far away from where i lived. My dentisy had told me to memories the teeth numbering of an adults teeth and childs teeth. I went home stayed up late trying to remember the teeth. Even my partner had told me that i kept talking in my teeth. When i went to work i asked the dentist if i could study that day the teeth for i didnt get to study the kids teeth and memories a bit of the teeth. That was the day i myself was fired. I learned that i still needed to study these things but the problem is. My family doesn't have a home and we have been struggling when it comes to life. We live with our cusins and my brother wants to move near his job and schooling. We are still young im 22 hes 21 my sister is 19 and my little brother is 16. Im supposed to help out my brother pay with rent. When i look for dental jobs none of them want to take the time to train me. So i have to quickly get a diffrent job for the time being. I had talked about it with my schools canceling for it has become a bit stressful because of my current situation. That i would work first ro get money to pay for rent with my brother and study when id get home from work and then try to apply for internships, externships. And not let my dental registration get expired. Once i get enough money and we are settled. I will continue to look for externship and internships along with studying while working. For i am not in a good situation at the moment. But im sure god himself will lead me to a good path. Thank you everyone and y’all got this. The only way this could change is if i find a dental job thays willing to teach me while i myself continue to study.
Glad I found this video it will help me a lot but the way this dentist office is set up it’s hard for me to even multitask. I don’t retract with a mirror or use the air to blow on the dentist mirror. 😢 newbie here
Just keep in mind that although you can't retract with the flexible section, it's a good go-to for hygiene assistance when a dentist makes a bite adjustment after an exam so they're just going in with a high speed for like 5 minutes max and not a full-on procedure, so the patient is not numb. Anytime the patient is not numb, be extremely careful where you're putting the large suction. You never want to stab the gums with that- learning from others' mistakes will always will always save you a good deal of frustration and your patients a good deal of pain.

What about a dentist who has a KAREN attitude?? She mocks my hygiene, ignores my hearing d8fficulty, and dismisses my difficulty in having my mouth open for so long due to my asthma and TMJ pain. Dry mouth aggravates the asthma, and holding it open aggravates my jaw to the point of tears. She also tells me that I wouldn't want this or that to fix broken tooth and subsequent poorly made filling. If she reads this, I don't care. I've left their office despite appreciating the original male dentist of the office. It was her, and a couple rude staff members who made me decide to leave.
The technology question is so good because when I first moved to vegas and my first office was a corporate, they had digital x-rays but their charts were basically a packet and they never really entered anything into the computer. It was so tedious. I left after a week and a half. I know some use routing slips which is good it’s just one paper and I can write down then type into the computer. Helps if the Dr is talking fast and you not a fast typer

@SleeplessinOC Omg nooo what a disaster 😷😷 Thank you so much for saying this, I've literally just sold my house this week to move to another country to escape mold because I'm highly allergic, there surely has to be a solution for this! I wonder if we could run alcohol through it? Like drinking grade alcohol?

I too am looking for effective solutions (other than bleach with may harm the unit , according to Waterpik) and if I think I have found anything worthwhile, I’ll come back here to post. Drinking grade alcohol? I do remember someone did mention rubbing alcohol but I’m not sure if that’s abrasive enough to actually loosen the mold ? Hmmm 🤔 If you’re trying to get rid of mold from your body and you’re willing and able to eat cooked garlic and beans , not necessarily at the same time but as part of your daily regimen (garlic temporarily or as needed but you need beans to capture the mold that the garlic has captured or killed) , you can remove mold from your body this way. Provided you do not have kidney issues , making beans a daily part of your life is extremely beneficial . You can opt for organic psyllium husk instead if you have kidney issues and can’t and shouldn’t eat beans .
@SleeplessinOC Thank you so much for this info, I haven't started to look into how to detox from mold, so what you shared is really helpful for me. I had no idea garlic and beans were helpful, I could happily eat them everyday. And yeah, when I soak my metal cups and bottles that have mold, I leave it overnight. I'm not sure how long it actually takes, but I've found that a short time doesn't work as well. If I happen to find a solution, I'll let you know too. Thank you so, so much for this info, it's really helped me a great deal.
