Like choice of music as well. Question though... Last year I went to Palisades in late April and after 11am the snow was incredibly sticky. Felt like I was going to flip forward couple of times. Have you experiences this, and if yes, do you know how to handle it?
actually it is not sticky this year due to the low Temperature. if it is sticky, you may need wax your ski. if still sticky, I will adjust my center of mass to avoid flip forward.
Excellent skiing and video! ⛷️ It's a bit sad to see it close with such good coverage still... I suppose Pallisades and other resorts will still be open for a while though. 🤔 😊
Excellent video. I like how the lake looks deep but brilliant blue on that early lap... quite a contrast against that fresh powder. I also like the good sportmanship on display at the end. I was in the race, wearing #5...I see myself in your video a few times, including at 5:08 and during the award ceremony. 😊
Thanks for sharing this! How may I contact you in requesting permission to use a section of this video for a video contest that I'm applying for (the Outside Awards)? I'm using approximately 17 seconds to intercut between my selfie video of myself skiing down Climax to your POV footage skiing down the same run. I can share a copy of the film that showcases how the section is utilized upon your request.
@@YuankaiZheng Thanks again. I just bought the Faction Le Mogul bc I love bump skiing and my all piste skis are just too heavy and clunky in the moguls. Have you have taken these skis in the trees? If so, fun or liability?
@@Michael_Peters haven't try tree, comfortable run Kirkwood wall jump and two men chute, if the powder is not so thick, I think it is also good. My friend has run big powder and tree with id one (mogul skis).ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BuNLbEhdffk.html
It honestly depends on the day. Some days, with fresh snow, there are soft turns and the bumps are not too big, so it skis more like a single black. Other days, it is firm/icey with big-ass moguls, so it skis like it is rated, i.e. like a double black. Right now, the bumps are relatively small and widely spaced. The upper portion is relatively soft, but the middle to bottom is somewhat firm. I would think that if you could ski Waterfall with ease, then you should be able to handle GB right now. (maybe start with East Bowl, which is a bit easier) I keep track of my laps on GB each year. I am presently at 403 so far. I usually end up near 700ish. I bring it up because I have become highly familiar with that run, from skiing it in a very wide range of conditions. Hope this helps!!
Yes, you can try the east bowl (right side) to world cup first, which is shorter and easier. After that you can try the left true Gunbarrel (can be icy and steep). The snow coverage is best this year, so it is a good time to try. By the way early morning and later afternoon is more tough since it can be icy. normally 11am -2pm best.
@@YuankaiZheng Yep, the snow has been a miracle this season! I've been on GB almost every afternoon since early January. (I usually have a light grey jacket with beet red pants.) I think you are doing an excellent job keeping your hands still and (mostly) in front, and your upper body looks still and dissociated from your leg movements... looks like you are skiing excellently in this video! Those are some nice turns on a challenging run!
