What was the purpose of this video. Did you watch the video before putting it in you tube. A total waste of my time per you should learn the meaning of the word REVIEW 😂
@@dorothysdaughtersews will join in and so sorry to hear about the loss of your sister. I just returned from CA after my sister In laws funeral. I’m the youngest of 5 at 72, and it’s tough losing family. I know you’ve been through so much the past few years. I’m always so glad to see you on your channel. Sewing is my joy each day.
This was an interesting discussion! I hope to join you in the future months, after dealing with the effects of Hurricane Helen. I have lost my home, so it will be hand sewing projects and reading for me for quite a while. Have you ladies read “The Pink Suit” by Nicole Mary Kelby? That’s one I have reread several times. It’s about an Irish immigrant seamstress & Jacqueline Kennedy’s historic pink Chanel suit. I highly recommend this one! 😘
I’ve found that when you do the slash and spread to make the back crotch length longer that when you sew the pants back seam, the center back comes to a point.
It is, in fact, “cricket”. They even used to have little antennas coming out of their logo like a cute little cricket. It is easy to see how the pronunciation “cri-cut” makes more sense due to the spelling.
I like the concept of the video. I was expecting to see things you actually owned, or absolutely need. The video is called “must have”. Some items you barely use yourself, you said it yourself, and others you don’t even own. I skipped to the next video. I do enjoy your calming voice, and I will give other videos on your channel a try. Thank you for putting in time to share your thoughts, and opinions.
I have used a double magnet bowl for over 7 years that I got from Home Depot. It has sewing pins on one end and fine, longer pins on the other. I also have a Husky rolling tool chest that I asked for my birthday 6 years ago that I store duplicate small things. It also carries my travel sewing machine, the project I’m traveling with and smaller rulers. This way I never have to ask “Does anyone have a …..?”, and everything is organized and in one place. I have shopped the hardware store since I started sewing in 2016 when I saw the prices on storage designated as crafting storage. I use a used conference table as my working table. It’s 6’ long and 40” wide and helps keep large projects from falling and pulling while sewing. My pressing station is a large covered board place on a secondhand kitchen cart. The pressing board is attached to the top and it allows for storage of my irons and pressing supplies. My husband made me a lighting frame out of PVC pipes that we spray painted and attached two light bars we bought on Amazon for $50, way better that the $$200-$400 for crafter set up. Lastly, I have a tall metal shelving unit for my project bins, sewing machine I’m not using, storage, and other equipment that I don’t use on a daily basis. There you go, all my hardware store finds that I have used for sewing and crafting.
Thank you for your valuable tips in this video. This is the first time I saw you using projector files, but I might have missed it. Do you have other videos on projector file use? I am very interested and a little intimidated by it.
Hi Kim! I wanted to ask your opinion about something, and this is a perfect application. Do you have any of the extra presser feet for your Juki MO-1000 serger? For swim suit sewing, I’m considering buying the elastic presser foot, but wonder if I should buy a multiple foot kit.
I have the set, but have only used one of the extra ones- the elastic tape one. I use it to apply clear elastic sometimes. I honestly use my coverstitch more and more for elastic, etc.
It's so good to see you again on my TV! I'm in for the book club!!!!! And I got to Fabrictopia a few months ago. Son & family live in Austin so it was not too far of a drive. What a great place.
Great video your absolutely right I am definitely a tom boy but it's so nice to be feminine when I want it's good for well being feeling sexy and beautiful starting at the foundation thank you for the great video 🎉🎉
Thank you for your lovely video. I have the latest state of art Janome memory craft embroidery computerised machine that my 3 grown children helped to pay for my combined birthday and Mother’s Day gift of $3,500. I’ve had it 2 years and hardly used it as I’ve had two total knee replacements on the same knee which caused so many falls, breaking my neck, multiple ribs and concussions and other injuries and I’m in pain 24/7. This has caused isolation from going out and depression because I am in so much pain I need home help. My machine has a button to sew and a foot but I can’t use the foot with my injured knee so the button is very handy. You have given me inspiration to sew for my 2 year old granddaughter and as she is a very precious IVF baby I bought the machine for that. My other Janome memory craft embroidery machine was over 30 years old and I was told if the mother board goes it couldn’t be replaced as they don’t have spare parts anymore. I used that for my kids growing up and making mikes of curtains for various houses so it really paid for itself. I also have a Janome 4 thread overlocker which has been used to death but it’s a bit hard to thread. I would love to change it but I doubt I can afford to. Any tutorials on overlocking use would be helpful too please. My daughter will be trying for another baby soon. Before I had the both surgeries I made all the cot sheets, swaddle Blankets bibs and other Baby needs. Then I had the surgery and everything came to a standstill. I really love the idea of that stuffy and I’d love to make that, and I have joined your Facebook group as I think you are a lovely lady and even though I live alone and on a very tight pension, I would really like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing these videos for people like me that can’t afford patterns. God bless you and I will follow you always for the lovely unselfish lady that you are many thanks once again.🙏🏼🤗🔥🌸🌺👶🏻
Hi, can i ask i have an Olympia cut out. Ehen u say put clear elastic along the waist would u sew it on the waist of the bodice ot the waist of the skirt? Would narrow regular elastic do if i dont have clear elastic? Thznk you. Your videos are very helpful 💕
Thank you! ❤️. You apply the clear elastic to the seam allowance at the waist. Don’t stretch it. Also, I would stick with clear elastic. Regular elastic may cause too much bulk.
