Its definitely an investment rather than an expense you're right, as generally we only use a campsite for the convenience of an electric hook-up to charge our gear, whether that be a phone, camera equipment, headlamp or even in your case to dry your hair! So in my eyes also, its an investment, it will pay for itself with the saving of £35 to £75 a night on a campsite with a hook-up. That's not to mention the backup and piece of mind it gives you in the event of a power cut at home with a fridge full of fresh food! Be canny for using in a shed down the bottom of a garden or taking to an allotment to do some jobs. The list is endless mate. Thanks for the detailed review.
Came across this looking for a good inexpensive tent for my upcoming camping trip in Georgia (USA). Gotta admit the thick accent and the wild turn of phrases (Total Class etc) made me stay. Happy camping and may your socks always stay dry!

Hi there, really enjoyed the video. I'm an avid hiker and have been looking at doing the same route as you did. When planning the route I could only see one Corbet ( which is also a Donald ) and two Donalds. There's another Corbet to the west of your route but you didn't go to that one. If you check out Walkhighlands they have a Corbet map and there's definitely only two near your route one of which you did White Coomb. Sorry bud I don't mean to be a nit picker and I did enjoy your video.

Most of the hill walking videos on routes in Scotland are accurate and I had to do a double take at the end of the video stating your statistics for the day. Like I say I enjoyed your video and I'm looking forward to watching your other ones. The reason I watched your video is that on May this year I finished the Munros and im now going after the Donalds and your video covered two Donalds. Three Donalds can actually be done with a wee extention to your route. Cheers bud and keep it going with the videos.

Brilliant stuff..clever folk those Germans. The heat and cold exposure stress the body just enough so we adapt and grow stronger. No stress at all is bad for our long term health span. Bodies become complacent and don't know how to fight off infections Thanks for your insight 😊

Im 58 Simon but have a really positive mindset when it comes to looking after myself. Conscious of my diet and I think moderation of eating the bad stuff helps plenty of exercise and daily small walks plus my love for the Outdoors has really helped my health and mental health. The thought of being 60 in a year or so doesn't sound good but I think if you have a positive mindset it helps unbelievably. Enjoyed your video tonight keep em coming. Atvb Andy 👍

@@johncole5495 JC thanks for heads-up 👍 I know what you're saying is Right, I would love nothing more than to get myself back in shape but I find it hard to motivate myself 😒 9 years ago I had a section of my left lung removed and from that my liver has deteriorated which in turn has caused me immense problems with my mental health, fingers crossed I can get back on track one day but in the meantime I find loads of solace watching yourself Simon and and friends and the Fabulous Yonder Mountain Adventures 👍 I love Nature and I know how beneficial it is and i Will get back to it 👍 Atb mate Trevor

But then I had the same question Rene had, however after watching your videos, and from other RU-vidrs, I realised rain doesn't get inside the tent through the mesh. I have the regular X4 and I love it, next year, before winter, I'll buy the X6 Pro, just to have a bit more room, specially while using a stove, when I got camping with my girlfriend. @@YONDERMOUNTAINADVENTURES eah these kinds of tents are great, specially in bad weather. I love the X4, but using 2 cots and a stove (I have the Dweller 2) leaves room for only one chair, so what I do is leave one cot, and then when we're ready to go to sleep, I set up the second. But is a bit annoying (specially because the stove is being used) so we decided to buy the X6 Pro for the room, and keep the X4, just in case. Same to you brother, happy camping.
Really enjoyed this video, I will be attempting to go part of the way up the pap in two weeks time but wont go up to the top. As you quite rightly said in your video, it's very important to know your limitations. Great advice in your video as you was on your way down. Look forward to watching more of your videos 👍

When speaking about the tent being too hot, you can clearly see the flue is wide open. Adjust the flue and the close the vents and it will bring the temp down.

Many thanks for the shoutout, a real honour. That poem has reappeared recently then: it was there quite a few years ago when I first visited. Good to see it’s reappearance! The birthing canal analogy is pretty funny, but even more accurate when you see what the cave looks like from a drones eye view! I don’t think there is much known for definite about Cateran Hole, other than it’s a natural fault with modified steps at the entrance and the name itself means ‘reiver’ and it almost certainly doesn’t go to Chillingham. Once again What a Fannntastic video 👍 your so lucky having amazing countryside on your doorstep, I really enjoyed the bit on the Cateran hole, I can see where the story about the monks of Lindasfarm hiding there treasures there might of come from, how on earth would the Vikings of found that hiding place, and the Poem was powerful I rewound and listened to it a couple of times 👍 and your description when leaving the hole was pure class "Birthing Canal" 😂😂😂 I couldn't stop pissing myself laughing 😂😂😂 Faaantastic 👍

Stunning bit of land. Walked from the A1 up there and camped on the hill, what a slog! Had loads of time to appreciate the landscape and chat to the farmers 🤜🤛
