Get rid of that Epic Games garbage and I'm enlisting. It is without exaggeration that EDF is among my most beloved franchises. I cannot think of any other series where I'd put up with the Grind to be able to take on Hardest and Inferno, but EDF doesn't even begin to grate my nerves with the late game. Also, EDF 5 is one of the most brilliant sequels ever made, on the basis of its design philosophy -- That being: "EDF 4 was great, let's keep what was good, refine things that weren't, keep what worked, and just make literally everything better, in every way." In other words, you didn't try to reinvent the wheel with EDF 5, you just gave it an upgrade where needed, took what worked and just made it better, and added more content. I wish more sequels did this. It sounds simple, but a lot of sequels often butcher things from the last entry unnecessarily. Hell - you took glitches and game exploits that made classes more fun in EDF 4, and turned them into actual features in EDF 5! That is awareness very few developers have. But I'm not giving you my money until that Epic Games trash is gone. As much as I love you.
I've been playing the EDF games with my spouse since the very first release in the US well over a decade ago. We love these couch-co-op games, they are just constant forever-fun. We've played each one multiple times, through all five difficulty levels; it is arguable that I have put more hours into EDF than any other game series in my life. The easy levels are pure joy, the hardest levels a tactical puzzle to solve - truly there is fun for both the goof and the armchair general. I love Earth Defense Force, and I hope they keep making this series until the sun burns out.
"We need more recruits to protect Mother Earth from the threat of invaders!" then fix EOS and the desync! i can't wait until i can finally play this game online! I bet pretty much all of those reviews didn't take into account those problems...
I heard someone who got space marine 2 that also had EGS thing. That the game were incredibly long to load because that someone uninstalled EGS app. It try to draw data from that app first before loading the game. It seems like EGS fusion the entire game so hard so it can't run without it. Which make that person rage refunded the game. So based on that I imagine trying to removing EGS seems to be a lot harder and take a lot of time consuming for EDF devs. 🙁
