Hi I'm Rebecca (aka Becster) and I'm a 40 something living in Eryri (Snowdonia), North Wales with my little family. I have very eclectic range of hobbies but my main passion is steam trains and heritage railway. I also love Eryri, Welsh slate and a bit of motorsport. I LOVE my local area and here you will find all about my life in this lovely part of Wales.
I'll be sharing all of my visits to heritage railways as I intend to visit every one in the UK. In addition I'll share some videos of other things we get up to including some fantastic places to visit and walks in the local area.
Feel free to get in touch at becster.com@gmail.com or look me up on the social media channels (@becsterdotcom and linked above)
What a lively ride 😊 I vaguely remember, I must have been age 3 or 4, looking up at the driver in the engine to say "Thank you". I don't remember more than that, but that's the last time I did this line 😂. I intend to visit some Welsh lines, once I've finished my American videos. (Bane of my life now, as much as I love them when they're finished 🤦🏻♂️). Anyway, lovely video Becs! 😊
Ah thanks! I hadn’t been here since I was a teen. Didn’t remember much of it either. Looking forward to the next instalment of the American adventure! And if you’re coming up this way let me know!
@@BecsterDotCom I've been trying to do my Scotland trip for a month. I'm 3 minutes in 🤦🏻♂️. This will be two parts, then on to something else. Probably back to America. I'm heading to York tomorrow, seeing the rail museum. Yeah, MORE filming and no time to edit 🤦🏻♂️. I'm meeting three guys. We are friends via RU-vid and haven't met before. One has come over from Canada! I will surely let you know if I'm up your way. I couldn't not 😁👍
Oh that’s cool! Have a great time in York. It’s a great museum that. I’m off to chase trains on the Welsh Highland Railway tomorrow as it’s Super Power weekend. The new NG15 (I say new it’s newly refurbished) is in steam now and doing footplate rides. Its massive! You’d like it! And I know what you mean about the video edits. I’m about 2 mins in to my next Isle of Man video and I’ve yet to finish my Florida ones.
Very good and not too long a vid at all. Never actually been on the Rheidol. I saw a vid somewhere covering some of the locos moved to that museum, and they seem to have a well equipped workshop somewhere. Don't know what's at devils bridge. I think they should be running main line steam on the Cambrian cost - if it works in the wilds of Scotland ..
Thank you! The museum is lovely - lots of light and the block flooring is fantastic. There must be a workshop somewhere as Palmerston has been there for a refurb. At Devil’s Bridge there’s a cafe and over the road a chocolate shop I believe. At the station they were running driver experiences through the summer. And of course you have the walk down to see the bridges. Steam along the Cambrian Coast would be AMAZING! But there’s some compatibility problem with something on steam trains now. Don’t know what but someone more technical than me could explain
That railway looks very neat and well painted. They seem to have several steam locos now including a new Polar Bear called Brown Bear. The original Polar Bear does the rounds from Amberley periodically - seems to be needing a new boiler currently though. That sort of car horn is a Klaxon Klaxette. Always sounds like the driver is breaking out and making a run for it. Funny sign at Lime Kiln halt . . .
Thanks for watching. Yes they seem to have a lovely fleet of locos now. I got there a bit too late to see them all but never mind. That Klaxon was fab!
Many years since I rode that. Just lovely to see it all again. And your daughter asks some very logical questions - how does the horse know which way to go?
Hi Rebecca. Thank you for making this video. It's good to hear that you enjoyed your visit to the Joys Of Life Model Railway. Your driver with Trojan 😁
Ah yes, I knew the Hogwarts train was a weird mockup. Clever though! That's weird you watching being in Florida watching a simulation of Glenfinnan Viaduct, and I went across it in real life only recently 😂 Oh, and Back To The Future. I've seen the locomotive used in the film, early 2000s (I think it was).
I hadn't realised before hand but it was quite obvious really that they wouldn't run a big steam engine for that distance! It was still good fun though!
Brilliant. A great ride. Brings back memories of my visit to Disneyland California back in the 90s. (I have the video on my channel!) I didn't know Florida had Nature's Wonderland. That's what was destroyed in California to make way for Thunder Mountain and stuff. Brilliant 😁
Ah I wasn’t really disappointed- only a little bit. Unless they put proper steam in the loco then I’ll probably still feel the same next time. All in all it was a good day though. Jurassic Park was the best!
A ride around Walt Disney World Theme Park in Orlando, Florida at the WDWRR with Walt Disney World Railroad #1 “Walter E. Disney” (Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in May 1925).
What a fun little railway! Very nice. Though, I'm not keen on the bright colour scheme. I expected the engine to be "mock" steam when it approached, (diesel of battery), but nope! All real steam 😁
😄😄 Ahhh under normal circumstances I love snow - don't get enough of it! But it was Easter holidays last year and it was supposed to be sunny! Thanks to the snow the pit itself was shut. Typical!
Majority was filmed on Saturday 10th Feb with some pickup shots filmed the following day. Weather was changeable on Saturday- gloomy in the morning but sunny in the afternoon
Almost. Mostly filmed on Saturday - weather was overcast in the morning but sunny in the r afternoon. The only shots not done on Saturday is the set off from Kidderminster and the clip at Daniel’s Mill
I do love Autopia. The Paris one is better than the USA one as there are so many different ways you can go. Plus I remember shouting at my kids "you need to steer". Happy memories, thanks.
I took my quads with me to Tenerife and headed up to Santa Cruz and played roller derby with the team at training there. Where we stay there's not really decent skating areas but Playa looks like it has a good pavement. Good to see you have your wrist guards and helmet on.
Disappointed not to visit this autumn but seeing this cheers me up thank you! Not sure my cameras would have survived the rain! Looks like you got the best of the weather with yours.
@@BecsterDotCom up at Llyn Cwmorthin you couldn't even cross the bridge water was flowing over it. I love how all the waterfalls just appear on the mountains after heavy rain. Just have to wait another year until I visit again.
Oh it’s amazing how the water just pops out of everywhere. That waterfall by Wrysgan incline is the best. Without the rain it’s a trickle but when it pours it’s amazing!
