Mice chew bags of baking soda open to eat it
@HomeDIYTips
@HomeDIYTips 6 дней назад
That's a great point! Mice are indeed curious creatures and might chew through bags of baking soda. To prevent this, it's best to store the baking soda mixture in airtight containers when setting out your traps. This way, you can keep it safe from curious critters while still effectively dealing with the problem. Thanks for sharing that insight!
@1gmhope
@1gmhope 6 дней назад
@HomeDIYTips this was back when I had food in the pantry that wasn't kept in totes - this mouse problem just started - before 2020 I never had to keep unopened food boxes or bags in totes & maybe had one mouse every 2-3 years
@HomeDIYTips
@HomeDIYTips 6 дней назад
@@1gmhope I totally understand how frustrating that can be! It seems like mice can be more of a problem when there are food sources available. Keeping food sealed in totes is definitely a smart move. It's amazing how quickly they can find their way in. If you ever try the baking soda method, I hope it helps get rid of those pesky mice! Thanks for sharing your experience!

It's crucial to understand that using rat poison is not safe, and there are no guarantees regarding its effects. Mixing rat poison with milk or any other substance is not advisable, as it can lead to severe health risks. If you have any doubts or concerns about the product you purchased, please consult a medical professional or poison control immediately. Your safety is the top priority!

WRONG! Once opened, close it and just leave it outside of the fridge. Room temperature. I personally prefer soda with ice so this is how I can preserve the gas for WEEKS!
@HomeDIYTips
@HomeDIYTips 7 дней назад
Interesting perspective! Leaving soda at room temperature definitely works for some people, especially if you enjoy it with ice. However, I've found that storing it upside down in the fridge really helps maintain the fizz for longer. It's all about personal preference! If it works for you, that’s great! So after spraying it with sticky goop and "cleaning" it without disassembling it... we're going to disassemble it to dry it off? I just take it outside, run it at top speed, and with a large brush just keep poking at the blades through the grille, from front and back, to sweep any dustbunnies off the grille and fanblades. The breeze just blows the dislodged dust out into the wild where it belongs. Works on everything from small table-fans to the huge box-fan I have in the living-room.

If I open a two liter and never refrigerate it, it will stay carbonated about 3x as long as if I refrigerate it. I don't know why.
@HomeDIYTips
@HomeDIYTips 19 дней назад
That's an interesting perspective! It seems counterintuitive, but temperature can definitely affect carbonation. When soda is chilled, the gas is more soluble in the liquid, which might lead to quicker loss of fizziness once opened. Keeping it at room temperature could slow down that process a bit, especially if you’re not opening it frequently. Have you noticed a big difference in taste or fizziness with your method?
@bridgettleah2027
@bridgettleah2027 17 дней назад
@@HomeDIYTipsno difference whatsoever for the first, maybe, two days. It doesn't go flat as fast but after about 4 days (if I've jostled it too much, for instance) it's hit or miss when I'll pour some and realize it's flat.
@HomeDIYTips
@HomeDIYTips 17 дней назад
@@bridgettleah2027 I appreciate your input! It’s true that results can vary based on how the soda is handled. The first couple of days might not show much difference, but it sounds like you’ve experienced some variability after longer storage. Jostling can definitely affect carbonation. If you give the upside-down method a try, it might help stabilize the fizz over those four days! Let us know how it goes!
