We assume that you see a Cl peak in the blank. You could try increasing the rinsing volume. Or run several blanks in a row to see if the peak decreases. If yes, then increase the rinsing volume. If not, then it could be an impurity in the chemicals or the ultrapure water. Whenever possible, you should use chemicals and ultrapure water without impurities. Hi You can contact your local Metrohm organization or exclusive distributor through our website: www.metrohm.com/en.html#country-selection Best regards Michel, Metrohm International Headquarters
We would recommend calibrating the sensor daily and at the temperature of the samples for exact results. It depends a bit on the accuracy that is required.

Alternatively, you can also find information in the manual of your IC system. BR Michel, Metrohm International Headquarters
Hello, this does not affect the calibration. After cleaning, you need to prep the burette with fresh titrant and your system will be working correctly.
Hi Erick There could be various reasons for this. You can find additional information on this topic in our Application Bulletin AB-188: www.metrohm.com/en/applications/ab-application-bulletins/ab-188.html If you need to troubleshoot your instrument or sensor, please get in touch with your local Metrohm subsidiary or exclusive distributor: www.metrohm.com/en.html#country-selection BR Michel, Metrohm International Headquarters
Hello, I have a new HACH PHC101 electrode, but I can not calibrate, it says (standard not recognized. Rinse the electrode and repeat). Can you help me and tell me the reason?
Hi Thank you for your comment. Could you please check if another electrode can be calibrated? This way we would know if the problem lies with the instrument or the sensor. In general, if you require instrument support, please contact your local Metrohm organization or exclusive distributor. BR Michel, Metrohm International Headquarters

Hi @fatinrun A blocked piston on an exchange unit is usually caused by a blocked tube or anti diffusion tip. We suggest: - Remove the anti diff. tip and try dosing again - If the anti diff. tip doesn’t rectify the problem then remove the burette tip and dose again - If the blockage still occurs then disconnect the outlet tubing from the valve unit and try dosing - make sure you have tissue at hand to catch the dispensed liquid - If problem remains then the issue has to be caused by a blocked valve/stop cock which will need removing/rinsing and potentially replacing - If this doesn't fix the issue, please send an email to technical@metrohm.co.uk and we will be happy to assist further.
Hi Moisture content is definitely one important parameter for the quality assurance, but it is not the only one. Next to that, multiple key parameters, like ethanol, glycerol, or active ingredients like sodium laureth sulfate can be measured simultaneously in less then one minute using the DS2500 Solid Analyzer. The Vision Air software displays all parameters on one screen when the analysis is finished.
Hi Thank you for your question. No, the oven method is not mentioned in ASTM D1533. It describes direct coulometric Karl Fischer titration. The samples must be added directly into the titration cell.
@@MetrohmTV I’ve been publishing on the power of field-able chemical analysis. I’ve been really impressed by what you’ve accomplished with your portable NearIR source.
Great video 😊! Why only 4,7,9 buffers used for calibration! What is the maximum limit can dip the ph electrode or need to only dip the end of the electrode
Hi Samuel Thank you for your comment. You always have to calibrate with buffers which lie within your measuring range. With buffers pH 4, 7, and 9, you’re already covering quite a broad pH range. Should you need to cover an even broader range, you can use pH buffers from other manufacturers. As for the electrode: The electrode has to be dipped in in such a way that the diaphragm is fully covered by your measuring solution. I.e., the glass membrane and diaphragm have to be immersed but the electrolyte filling hole has to stay above the sample. Best regards Michel, Metrohm International Headquarters
Hi what if there is backflow of cell solution back into the titrant Comp T5 tube and instead of dosing titrant it is dosing the cell solution back into the cell
Hi We cannot tell what the problem might be without further information. Please contact your local Metrohm subsidiary or exclusive distributor for technical support in this matter: www.metrohm.com/en.html#country-selection Best regards Michel, Metrohm International Headquarters
Hi We do have an application where we used the Optrode for turbidity titrations. However, turbidity titration does not work in every case. It depends on the difference of turbidity and on your sample. Therefore you would need to test it out for your specific application. Please find the application here: www.metrohm.com/en/applications/application-notes/aa-t-001-100/an-t-055.html If you need more support, feel free to contact your local Metrohm subsidiary or exclusive distributor: www.metrohm.com/en.html#country-selection Best regards Michel, Metrohm International Headquarters
As mentioned in the last comment, the detection of the turbidity is dependent on your sample. Please get in touch with your local Metrohm Agency to resolve the issue: www.metrohm.com/en.html#country-selection Best regards Michel, Metrohm International Headquarters
Hi Thank you for your comment. Typically, a buffer measurement should not take more than a few seconds or a few minutes at most. A measuring time of 45 minutes is a clear indicator that something is not right, the most obvious candidate being a defective electrode. Please check whether your electrode needs to be replaced or contact your local Metrohm organization if you need technical support: www.metrohm.com/en.html#country-selection Best regards Metrohm International Headquarters
Hi, I am using PGSTAT for battery analysis but would you please make videos on how to extract battery data from NOVA and plot a graph of voltage vs. relative capacity ( Fig 2) as shown in the link below: www.metrohm.com/content/dam/metrohm/shared/documents/application-notes/an-b/AN-BAT-002.pdf

Hi Buffer sachets are for single use only. Metrohm buffers in the bottle last up to 3 months after opening and are easy to store on shelves. After a calibration, the buffer should be discarded and should not be reused. You can find more information in this blog post: www.metrohm.com/en/discover/blog/20-21/faq--all-about-ph-calibration.html
Hello, I have done this practice a few time, and at the last cleaning, there are air leakage from the bottom (piston part) into the glass tube. Do you have any suggestion how to handle this condition? Thanks
