The Adventist Archives, more formally known as the Office of Archives, Statistics, and Research (ASTR) brings together the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s past and present in order to inspire for the future. ASTR is located at the world headquarters of the General Conference (GC) of Seventh-day Adventists just outside of Washington, D.C., in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA.
As our name indicates, we serve as the official records center and historical archives of the world headquarters. We also conduct research projects for the General Conference administration; evaluate General Conference departments and agencies; produce the denomination's Yearbook and Annual Statistical Report; and provide other information on the suite of websites accessible from www.adventistarchives.org. As real Christianity is watered down, more and more are joing the religion. The challenge is still to proclaim the undiluted Three Angels' Messages to every nation, kindred, tongue and people. The CORE of these messages is the EVERLASTING gospel of salvation. Everyone who commits to Jesus Christ commits to sharing His gospel to an often hostile or derisive world. I read this story of JFK' rescue back then but had no idea that it was brave and courageous, compassionate SDA brothers who rescued him. Do you know whether JFK ever learned that they were SDA and what impact did that have on him?

Rescuing others from a watery grave = pulling an ox from the ditch on the Sabbath. Not any old helping. If the helping is not an emergency, do it after the sacred Sabbath hours have passed. Preserving life is doing good on the Sabbath. All other ordinary work should be left off on the Holy Sabbath day in honor of God as our Creator.
