Thanks for the legitimate review. Nearly all the other channels are people getting freebies from companies which of course they'll always give a positive review.
I got the blue titanium version and yeah, those thumb studs are trash and the opening is insane tight, but I've worked it in a bit and added a little oil. At $200 it just is bad. I've had no problem with Axis locks/cross-bar, though some come with a bit tight. This is a liner lock.
If you take it apart and pull the lock back from the blade a little it will help. But don't pull the lock back too far away from the blade or else it won't lock
I don't do this for a living. I just collect a lot of knives and they all cut really good even the cheap ones. I do the knife reviews so other people don't get ripped off.
The detent on mine is insanely tight (went titanium handle). It doesn't drop shut at all either. They really need to do a better job at this price range. Those thumb studs are awful.
My review was meant to discourage people from buying this knife but yet I read my reviews in one person is actually buying it. Take the knife apart and pull the lock away from the blade a little. If you pull it to far out it won't lock the blade. Push it back in it you pulled it to far out. I find I have to do this with many knives. It's the lock rubbing against the blade that stops it from flicking out and dropping shut. I'm sorry I bought mine poor craftsman ship and way to much money. Many knife reviews are paid off with free knives. I'm just a normal man trying to help people.
Try taking the knife apart and pulling the Locking device away from the blade but not too much or it won't lock the knife when you put it back together.. if you do pull it too far out just push it back.. I found with many of the knives you have to do this because the lock rubs against the blade stopping it from dropping shut and stopping you from flipping out the knife.
Looks like a beautiful knife. I can see what you mean about the wood. I wish the blade were a little longer and it didn't have that carving on the wood
