I’m about to start high school in a month and I’m thinking about ROTC throughout high school and college not because I’m interested in being in the military or the real army but just because I know it’s a good way to get experience and I want to be a psychologist and I was told ROTC could be a good way to get a kick ass job in the future. I dunno I’m really scared because I’m not very social and I’m not super good at leading at all but I know this would be a good way to get to my dream job.
Thanks for all the info, I'm thinking of going into the ROTC program when I sign up for college and just wanted to know what I would possibly get myself into.
My son was in NROTC, he is now in reserves (a commander O-5) learned to fly, earned 2 masters degrees and is now a pilot with United Airlines. It all started for him in NROTC (Navy back in 1999.) so proud of his friends who love our country as his dad does.
Hi, thanks for the video. I have a Bachelor's degree and am thinking of joining the army as an officer. I want to get an MBA with a marketing focus. I heard I only need to be enlisted for three years to get a GI bill. Can I just enlist three years and then start my MBA? Or can I do my MBA while in the army?
Enlisted E-4 here, starting my MBA program in the fall. Accepted into all the schools I applied to. Stern, Whitman, RBS. Chose RBS since it’s closer to home with less travel which is great because I’ll be in ROTC as well (weird timelines Ik ik). I regret not applying to more top 10 programs only because I’m convinced I can talk myself into one. But I’m happy with my choice. in my mind it’s location location location.
Just passed the safety test yesterday. It’s no joke. Pay attention and like you said bring all your safety t’s with you. The test is is the middle of the course now and they allow for you to retest once before recycling you.
Rule number 1. Always remember that you are expendable. Number 2. There is always going to be somebody to take your place, no matter how inexperienced.
Hey man appreciate the content, I am in a place where I’m going to graduate soon and not sure to go either national guard or full time army, and I do wish to pursue an MBA in the future, could you please give me a recommendation off this current information
30 year retired veteran here. There is a big problem with too many valued merits. The active duty military ran into this problem all the time with incompetent. The USMC had what was called a "cutting score" list of about 12 items. Many could be poor at their job, but be a high PTer and shooter, get the most allowable for correspondence courses, etc. Then the Affirmative Action quota system came in all the values were in the air.
If you guys are interested in looking for an alternative to the four year rotc program, check out these videos which talks about Army ECP ROTC, which allows you to commission in two years. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tfKb6v6x1sE.html
received my commission through ROTC in 1971. When an individual started MS3, they were committed to accepting a commission and serving on active duty if they completed the program. Does this still hold true??????????????????????
