I have this filter standing next to mine aquarium. But it sounds a bit like a warerfall which should not be. Anyone have any advice on what I do wrong. Filterpumo stands next to my aquarium
Bonjour, peut on utuliser 2 tapis chauffant different pour 2 terrarium avec seulement 1 seul de ce thermostat ou il faut avoir 2 thermostat? Et puis je utuliser seulement le chaufage car j ai pas besoin de lampe ?
How to check that the uv lamp is finally light up ? No way to detect. The small round window seems to be designed as a check spot light, but nothing visible after the third lamp replacement. Any advice ?
Hi , I’m struggling to get water flow through setting it up . If I fill the pump chamber and the rest it doesn’t flow through and just runs out in the pump chamber ? On the video that the company has done they add that black filter into the different chamber ? Any ideas ?
I'm having the same problem. I think the flow on the return pump is too high ... the return chamber is emptying quicker than it is filling up, even when I take out the two black sponges! I really want to be able to add a filter sock but there doesn't seem to be anyway to do this with the comb style weir 😢
Thank you for your message! If the filter is broken, we advise to contact the store where you bought the filter, they can help you best regarding the matter.
Pretty stupid. An assembly instruction should include how to assemble, right? First, there are two versions, second assembling the skimmers is very complicated. Plus, there are two versions so if you have the 3000 you don't know if this is right. Last but not least, the instruction does not show where the motor goes and how, nor which filter goes where. Add to this the completely useless manual. A great start with this product, not. 🤔
Newbie here, what do you mean? I have this filter and it seems to have cycled well but if I can improve my fishes well-being I would like to. What would you recommend instead? :)
@@jackhb7552 No problem. I worked in fish stores for 10 years, and it's been a while so I don't know what the new "hotness" is, but I can explain it so that you'll be able to decide what you want for yourself. There are 3 types of filtration, biological, mechanical, and chemical. Biological refers to the bacteria that build up that process the waste. (not necessarily the poop but chemically; the ammonia and nitrite waste - converting it into nitrates which is less harmful and can be reduced with water changes.) This is the most important. I'll explain in a sec. Chemical is anything you add chemically. (obviously but most commonly carbon which is used to polish the water and make it sparkle. Declorinator and anything else you might use counts too, but mostly you see it used by companies talking about the carbon they have sewn in their filter pads as a selling point. Which brings us to mechanical. Sponges, filter pads, etc. (anything used to strain the water so to speak) You could technically have a messy looking tank and your water test will look fine. Biological has very little to do with the clarity of the water, but it is what keeps your tank chemically stable. Bacteria will build up on any surface area where there is water flow, (under gravel filters, bio-wheels, media inside canister filters, even a sponge) The flip side is that you could have a crystal clear tank that test like chemical death because the water is polished but not stable. (ie high amonia and nitrites) That's basically what cycling is when you start a new tank. Building up the necessary good bacteria. The issue with having only sponge filters is that you eventually have to clean them. Yes you can clean them in the dirty aquarium water to minimize the bacteria you'll lose but it's still not ideal. A stable bed of bacteria is the foundation of your tank. When you wash it you will lose bacteria and your tanks chemistry will be thrown off. (each tanks variance will be different depending on size, fish load, etc.) You could have 2 sponge filters and rotate, but it gets cluttered. I would just put an old school undergravel in this case and leave the sponge filter to polish the water along with some carbon. There are pros and cons to most filters and all will require some maintenance long term, but a good stable filter will minimize your fish loss tremendously.
Hi Tiniest Prism and slothy plays, It depends on the size of the fish and the characteristics of the fish. This aquarium is only suitable for very small fish that don't grow a lot.
@@AquadistriBV It does have a little toggle on the side for adjusting something, I assumed this was to adjust the flow, certainly on full I noticed my fish got thrown around a bit.
@M M Same here last week! Lost a bunch of shrimp. I removed the housing by lowering the water a lot and using a large knife between the housing and the glass to remove sealant. I then added substrate to fill the space and being a newbie didn't know this would cause nitrate spike so just an additional warning to move shrimp and sensitive fish before doing that :S
I have a betta in this at the moment, it is a very good tank and the lights seem to be fine. If they broke you would have to get a little led clip on one. You can get this at Maidenhead Aquatics in black and white
Internal UV light 💡 burn up the plastic..I've had similar experience with my external Tetra uv light..Which I've replaced for Eheim Reeflex 7 watt that has aluminium body...Inbuilt UV light 💡 aren't good for any Plastic housing..

Exactly what I am looking for. But the price is a bit f*cked up for people with smaller ponds but who still want to see their energy bills being reduced substantially. I'll explain myself: - The 5000 - the smallest of the 3 in this serie - goes for 174 euros (and the one that would suit my pond perfectly for your information). - The 15000 - the biggest of the 3 in this serie - only goes for 198 euros. That's a small difference of only 24 euros, while the pumps themselves differ A LOT in strength and power. This means that people with smaller ponds have to pay much more for this product compared to people with big ponds. The bigger the pond, the bigger the pump, the less you pay for the pump. Doesn't really make sense, does it? A more fair price would be around 140 euros for the small one and 199 euros for the biggest one. Just my 2 cent opinion. It was something I noticed while looking at these pumps, and I thought to share my thoughts about it. Cheers.
If the foam cartridge is replaced on a monthly basis all the developing good bacteria ie nitrosomonas and nitrobacters will be discarded leaving almost new tank syndrome.
