My name is Jonathan, although on the dark internet streets, I'm sometimes known as CrimsonTemplar or something to that effect. It's a reference to a chapter of Space Marines from the 40k Second Edition, but I don't use the moniker often these days.
I am a freelance Voiceover Artist and Voice Actor, based in the UK as you might have guessed, utilizing a voice that has a rich, resonance, confidence and versatility to it. Add a hint of baritone and you have yourself a voice for a great many projects, of differing types (Corporate, Documentary, Audiobook, Narration etc).
This is my RU-vid home and, similar to Soundcloud, is largely here for projects done in my spare time as well the occasional gameplay from say a Zeus session in Arma 3 or whatever game I decide to play.
I possess a fully equipped home studio booth, with access to ipDTL and Skype.
Please see my website or online profiles for more details on equipment, turnaround, reels etc.
About time I had a Demo Reel made to showcase my range. Also something a little different from the usual stuff that's uploaded here: Speaking of short stories, I've received a few messages asking whether or not they'll be returning. The answer is YES! I actually have one in the works as we speak. It's been a bit of a busy time on my end so I haven't had the chance to come back to doing one. I'll make a seperate video on all that, later this week.
Ok cox, you and border princess do the same thing: you start reading, but end up just fetishizing over the melodramatic vamping if female characters. It sucks. It's creepy. It's 40k. It's not a goddamn romance novel.
Update your little display picture mate to something more relatable for your channel at present it is off putting quality compared to your channel quality if that makes any sense. Great work subbed.
I think your work is more than many could accomplish...however feedback is always a good thing. Having listed to hundreds of 40K and HH audiobooks, I've found the ones that don't over emotionalize the descriptions of the action are more polished and noteworthy. Great work JC...thank you.
Thanks very much for your feedback. I do appreciate it. Yes after listening back to these a few times, I've started to lean towards that position myself. I grew up listening to the likes of Martin Jarvis, Stephen et al, who have often done that so it has kinda influenced how I approach each piece of text. Each one requires its own balance so to speak. The next two short stories coming up should be little more measured in that regard.
Oh don't worry! All is quite well! As I've said down below, I've been working on producing an Audiobook professionally, which took up my time a bit. That's now wrapped up so I should have something out soon. Also Into the Dark was released at the beginning of this year, followed by Descent on Arkhona. The reason why it probably says that is, due to the copyright strike, the video disappeared for a bit before being made public again.
Just saw your comment. Thank you! And don't worry more will be coming. Sadly I've been busy with some voiceover work these last couple months, including narrating and producing an actual audiobook! Thankfully it's all wrapping up soon and I'll have the next 40k narration out soon.
Can you do The BEast Arises or the new primarch novels? I think you could be a voice of a primarch no one will forget! If an Auzzie can be more of a Magnus than black library can make then you will breeze it! ThaNK YOU so much for this!
UPDATE: I should have Part 1 of the next story up this Sunday. There are just a couple bits I want to re-record first, so that they fit a little better and give a smoother sense of continuity leading into part 2 (and possibly part 3) further down the road. Thanks for keeping patient. Bucking the current trend due to notable events, my workload has been relatively high and diverting my attention away from this. While certainly nice having a steady workflow , does detract from things I want to do such as this. Secondly I underestimated how long this would take to edit (this was a sizable short story/novella), which is why it's being split up into separate parts. In any any case it's coming together nicely and should tide you over. Needless to say, this'll be the last novella I do for a bit. But don't worry, more short stories will be coming.
