I'm a Nirvana fan just as much as I am an offspring fan. I agree with the majority, it wouldn't be great. Dexter has one of those unique voices that are almost un-coverable, as does Cobain. If Dexter tried to cover a Nirvana song it just wouldn't be right. Just my opinion here
Cobain didnt flow like this. He was a little slower and more edgy . More raspy voice. He could manage since he is a musical god but this just wouldnt be his best work. Thats just my opnion
I love how cool Dexter is about the guy getting on stage and everything, he doesn't even miss a beat. If this had been a Guns N' Roses concert things would have been A LOT different.
@dudewerdman1 Keep in mind that they lower the key of basically everything they play live (like here - the Smash version is in A, but live it's in A-flat), which makes it easier to sing. They record in standard tuning and then drop everything a half step (and sometimes a whole step I think) when they play live. Personally I think it's kind of cheesy, but it's the only way he can manage to sing those inhuman vocal parts live.
