That plus the british invasion which had bands who supported more liberal ideas was a catastrophe for American culture. American culture used to be the best culture on earth, in he late 50s it was at its peak, I don't mind the beach boys, they make good music, but I can't stand the beatles. Cars also looked better in the 50s, they had better tailfins and cooler headlights, it's interesting how the early 60s are so differant from the late 60s.
