I like mountains, I like skiing, and I am happy when I am skiing. And I’d like to share with you a part of my happiness in skiing! During making videos an additional plan appeared: to make a video-atlas of Sölden ski area.
Canazei is a very good place to stay. From one side (to the left) it is not far to the mountain Champinoi and famous World Cup piste Saslong, from other side (to the right) it is not very far to Arabba and famous mountain Marmolada. BTW, spoiler, I hope in some days to complete making a new video about the trip from Arabba to Marmolada and back. Good luck and have fun skiing on the Sellaronda. ⛷👍😊
Thanks a lot for response and watching, my friend! Unfortunately, I have not chances for skiing for 2 years already. 😢 But sometimes I remember my skiing and make videos from old recordings.
Hallo @jorgrupprecht1343.
@giuseppebongiovanni3513, thank you for your note. You are right. I know this fact and it is noted in the description of my another video about Saslong, which is composed in the overview style ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bzq4dzTFsPY.html But this video is devoted to Saslong from the World Cup point of view and according to the World Cup terminology this event is named “Val Gardena / Groeden (ITA), AUDI FIS SKI WORLD CUP - 56. SASLONG CLASSIC”. 🤷♂️
Mate, thanks for putting all that up. I did it for the first time yesterday, on my own without a clue where to go other than to follow the orange signs. I got curious when I found myself on blacks as I was sure it was supposed to be all reds and blues. No problem, it made it better, but I did wonder then I found your film of the route I took. You even mentioned where the standard route split right with the alternative straight on so that explained everything. We started at different places but took the exact same options, even the pauses to check direction. Looks like you had a couple of moments there with people not looking before they turned! Phew! And I spent more time looking at the scenery in your clips than I did skiing it myself. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Cheers.
Hi John! Thans for high estimation of my videos. It is very nice for me. But still, it is better to go skiing than to watch videos. 😊 Yes, Sellaronda is fantastic, I had a lot of fun skiing it! I was also on the Sellaronda for the first time when I made these records, and I also skied the Orange Sellaronda alternative version with black pistes, although I originally planned to go on the easier version, because like you, I only followed the orange signs. 😊 Only later, when I was already editing videos from those records, I understood where I had to return to the usual version of the Sellaronda. And that's why I made these comments in the video so that other skies don't confuse the routes. In general, the sign system on the Sellaronda and the colors of pistes are quite fun. 😊 The most interesting color situation is on the Green Sellaronda on the Sitta Dei Sassi piste, which is marked red on the map, has blue signs on the circuit itself, but I would rate it as green 😊 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WA5TxQ3naOs.htmlt= 1010 As I understand you are still skiing on the Sellaronda. So, have fun skiing!
Sorry, I don't speak German. 🤷♂️ Thank you very much for your note. You are right, Sölden has two black pistes more than my video includes. I think, under the name "rote Kar" you mean Black 1b piste. Yes, it is very steep and cool. 👍 I only had the opportunity to ski in Sölden for a week at a time for several years. But, unfortunately, I was lucky to ski Black 1b piste only one time, but it was before I bought my action cam. Other weeks when I skied in Sölden, this piste was closed or ungroomed. So, unfortunately, I have not video-records of skiing this piste. 🙁🤷♂️ Frankly, I had impression that 1b is closed nearly always. Moreover, besides Black 1b piste, Sölden has one more black piste number 41 on the piste map. But again, every time I've been to Sölden, it was closed always, or rather this piste was not there at all - in its place was just a usual freeride slope that never saw a ratrak, and I never saw even pointers with the number 41. 🙁 So, to be exact, my video contains information and skiing of all Sölden's Black pistes which you can ski any time you come to Sölden. And I very hope I would have a chance to ski in Sölden again somewhen in future and to ski Black 1b and 41 pistes as well. ⛷😊
Yes, you are absolutely right. 👍 This piste requires good skiing skills and there are very many skiers on it as a rule. As I noticed the only case when you can ski the piste without crowd of skiers around you is if you have a chance to start descent not later than about 10 o'clock. Good luck for next season! 🎿⛷😊
Very nice ride. I have tried it myself once in the orange direction starting from Canazei. Why do are you so precise in writing if it is a chair lift or gondola ie? :) To my they are just lifts haha :)
Hi, Tony. Thanks for watching and response! Yes, Sellaronda is exciting route.👍 Exact descriptions go maybe from my nature and profession - I am a programmer and used to create precise algorithms. Hope it's not too annoying to watch? 😊
Yes, you are right.😍 But this is advantage for those who remember about this slope because there are not very many skiers on it usually. 😉 Another advantage of the slope is that it is black but not very steepy black slope (a little bit more than 40%), so that it is very good for skiers who only begin to ski black slopes.
Thank you very much for watching! Appreciate your pleasant response! Yes, I just plan to make a new video about the Orange Sellaronda in the same style. Hope, I will be able to do that in a couple of weeks.
Thanks for the response! Yes, Sölden has perfect blue (and red, and black) slopes. Blue slopes are very wide, in fact, they are velveteen fields in the morning, skiing on which bring you really much fun.🎿 👍
Jurre Wilms, absolutely agree with you. In fact this is a good black slope, but at the official skiing map it is marked as red. 😲 Frankly, marking of slopes categories at the Sellaronda map is sometimes strange. Even more funny situation you can see at the Sitta Dei Sassi piste which is marked as red, too 😊 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WA5TxQ3naOs.html
Thanks a lot for watching! Glad you like my video. I am sure you will enjoy your trip to St.Anton. If it is interesting for you, you can find more descriptions of my trip to St.Anton at my facebook page. It is in Ukrainian but translator can help you.
@happy_skier Hi, I'm going to sella in February. I have a question. Descent from Sass Bece to Arabba. Is it possible to ski from Sass Becce to Arabba without a transfer? Or is it necessary to use lift number 46 Alpenrose? Thank you for your response.
Hi @pelu1964, thank you very much for watching and response. 🙏 I skied on Sellaronda only one time and used just the way by using Alpenrose lift you wrote about. But according the Sellaronda map it is possible and I saw as this blue piste joins from left when I run along the red piste from the top of Alpenrose lift. Besides, I was told by some skier it is possible and I saw two skiers which drove past the Alpenrose lift to this blue piste through the bridge. I didn't include the way by the Alpenrose lift into my film because the battery in my cam got low and I hadn't noticed that, and this part of my route was not recorded.🙁 BTW, when I skied on Sellaronda in Jan 2020, the number of the Alpenrose lift was 127 but not 43. If you are sure it is 43 then maybe some lifts were renumbered from that time.
Thanks a lot for watching! In my opinion, as a rule beginning of Feb is one of the best periods for skiing in any area of Alps both from presence of enough snow and weather. Though nobody can guarantee the weather :). E.g. now the weather is ubnormally warm in average and as I know snow coverage is still low relatively to previous year. You can control the real weather and snow by web-cams.
Thanks for watching!🙏 Yes, music is like coffee, each has his own taste. 😉 Just for this reason I try to use various music in my videos. Please, try this one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8X7TU-xn_RM.html Have a nice holiday in March! 🎿 Skiing in Sölden is great even at the end of April, but in March it is fantastic!
Hi, thanks for watching! 🙏 I am happy you like it and appreciate if you put “like” for it and subscribe to my channel. I have a set of videos with the full demonstration of the Orange Sellaronda as well. If you stay in Canazei, the best point to start both Sellarondas (green and orange) is restaurant Kristiania in my opinion because both routes close well on this point and you can have lunch at Kristiania after finish. And next you can ski directly to Canazei by piste Red 6 Del Bosco.
Hi, thanks for watching. If you stay in Obergurgl for a couple of weeks, I’d recommend you to plan visiting Sölden more than 2 times. I see you are interested mostly in simple blue slopes, so you can find a lot of excellent blue pistes there. Giggijoch ski area (pistes 13 and 15, in fact they are not a pistes but the whole blue field) and Tiefenbach ski area (pistes 38 and 39) are ideal for skiers who skis mostly on blue pistes and landscapes are fantastic there. You can find appropriate videos in my channel. If you like my videos, I’d be grateful for your subscribing. 🙏
@@happy_skier Many thanks I am a senior skier with worn out knees but still love the mountains, will check out your recommendations and have subscribed best wishes
@broadoak2006, Thanks a lot! As for me, Solden has one of the most excellent meal infrastructure on ski slopes. At least much better than Obergurgl has. And in my opinion grooming of slopes in Solden is better than in Gurgls as well. Enjoy your vacation!
Paesaggio stupendo!! Ciao, e buone feste!
I am sorry, but I don't speak Italian, so I answer in English. Thank you very much for visiting my chanel and good response. 🙏 I am sorry if I am mistaken. Of course Italians know better, but I used Google Map, which shows that the top of Marmolada is situated just on the border between Veneto and Trentino but the main top part of the skiing slope of Marmolada to the Passo Fedaia is situated just in the Trentino region, though the base station of the cable car and 2 of 3 its segments are situated in the Veneto region. I am sorry youtube comments don't allow to add the picture with the map. Because I showed descent along the skiing slope, which is in the Trentino region, I wrote "Trentino" in the title of the video. But you are absolutely right 👍, I should put both names to the title, which I have already done. Merry Christmas and my best wishes to the holidays! 😊
@@Simonjburgess Yes, all Dolomites are awesome! Thanks a lot Simon! Glad you do not forget to watch my videos. 🙏 Sorry, can't say the same about me, because of too little time for youtube activity I have now. (
@@happy_skier you are right about the Dolomites… I’m excited to back to Italy in Feb… I am recently back from Pila in Aosta. Hoping you have plenty of time for skiing this winter!
