Agh, they change the 2625 kit again. They change the lower spring bracket. The slot is even shorter that needs to potentially share the airbag bolt and the lower support bracket if you needed it.
That is a big help for my install today! I think I got the new kit with rubber pucks but the instructions have an update stapled to the outside of the install guide that still wasn’t clear. Especially since they had a diagram of a jounce support and a lower support bracket in the original install guide.

Yup, don’t have to worry about those systems. If you go with a lexan windshield, you would probably be in a position to dump those systems as well. This would be a very last step for anyone building a car. My windshield was already chipped, and cracked, so it was a good time to yank it.
Putting a socket inside the fittings before you clamp the vice grip on will keep them from collapsing and will make the removal process quicker and easier.
What are the advantages of switching to Woodward? Are you leaving it with no power assistance? Do you think it will have any performance benefits in terms of ratio or feel
Just wanted to say thanks for posting so much great content. Your videos have been massively helpful as I’m building my C6. Let me know where to send a bottle of whiskey 👍
The car never experienced any issues after this modification. But thank you for your concern. Heat in flat floor cars with rear exit exhausts is always an internal cabin issue. In this case it did not hurt it. In other cars, such as our corvettes, it’s something that has to be addressed.
Very informal video, I am aware this is a race car not a street car but I noticed the bottle is mounted where the secondary fuse box usually is. Where did you relocate it?
The car no longer uses the stock harness or computer. It’s ran off of a MOTEC, so that area is free. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-At-ry3wrKps.htmlsi=PmTxdYGRKqp7Zzm1
Any update on abrasion resistance? I assume you removed your wiper system.. but I still have mine. Wondering if I’ll run into any issues with abrasion from wipers or even cleaning with a towel if there’s any particles in between the towel and the poly
I no longer have wipers, I don’t drive in the rain so it’s added weight. So far I haven’t had any yellowing or any noticeable scratches. I use a poly wind screen spray cleaner and two micro fibers, a wet one and then a dry one. So far so good.
I'd love to see a video on how you did your removable bumper and splitter assembly. Right now only my splitter is removable, but yours looks a lot simpler to install/remove.
I used some through bolts to attach the splitter to the lip of the bumper. This is an aftermarket number so the lip is what really helped make this an easier solution. But the lip is also the reason I needed to do this, because the lip didn’t lay flat I had to force it with fastener. Zebulon would rather I not do it this way in case of an excursion, I may lose the bumper and the splitter vs just the splitter. Just food for thought.
@@Poweredby8Racing I'm just an autocrosser so no real chance of an off. Having the ease of taking whole front end off the car would make it great for loading on trailer.
I have both brackets. I like the original longer bracket and I welded stops on it so it can't come off the bracket. Just 1/4" tabs on each side of the puck keeps it from sliding. I then drilled 2 holes and put a u bolt on under the jounce bumper so that the bracket doesn't want to lift upwards near the leaf stack. The center of my bolt into the airbag is right at the edge of jounce bumper so it's aligned. I went through everything you did with tech support and what they tell you to do still isn't a great design. There shouldn't even be a slot it should just have a single hole so it can't move. Also the spacer puck is a must not sure why they didn't think of that from the beginning
Thanks for the update about how many inches does the bag raise the rear. I want to install the kit on my 550 RV and I need to lift the rear to get up my driveway without scraping. Thanks Mike
Great review I have a F 550 with a Renegade Vercruz would that same kit work on a 550 as well. Second question does the air ride make the ride any smoother I can feel every bump on mu rig. Thanks Mike
Im slowly but surly turning my c5 into a more track dedicated car. The steering wheel/seats/harness have been put off long enough and I want to do it right. This is obviously next level but looks like NRG quick release is the way to go. Any advice or suggestions?
If you are sticking to stock steering column, the NRG adapter hub is needed. Then you can choose any quick release based on what you like and budget. I like the Krontec as the actual quick release.
I am just about to install the same system on my car, you could have easily edited the system activation out but you left it in which really helps, I will make sure that I have my control switch in de-activated position and have the pipework temporarily pointing outside the car until i have finished wiring up
It’s independent, but talks with the MOTEC CAN system for data logging and what not. I can connect to it via Bosch software to setup and what not though.
Thanks for this video. I want to use this kit on my truck, but with taller blocks in the rear of my truck, I wasn't going to be able to use those little support brackets, but since I have the jounce supports I should be good.
Sick build. That sucks they banned her. I mean honestly if they had no rules set in the first place then I don't think they should have banned it. It looks like it was a run what you brung type event so yea they were being extra with the banning.
Thanks for the video! I just did this job over the weekend and watched this video before I started to get a head start. Having finished the job, I learned a few things that I hope helps someone:
I ordered the ball press kit from the link supplied by @Poweredby8Racing from Amazon on a Monday and by Friday it still hadn’t shipped yet. I tried my luck with the rental tool from my local O’Reillys auto parts and it ended up working out great. I didn’t need the additional spacer that @Poweredby8Racing uses on the lower control arms in this video. It pressed out all the way with the basic kit. If you are doing this job and have a O’Reillys nearby, rent their press kit part #67045.
I did the lowers while they were on the car and attached to the suspension. That was easier than having them off as it was like I had an extra set of hands holding them steady. Note the car was on a lift, wouldn’t work as well on the ground or on jacks.
The tolerances must have been different on my lower arms than in this video. Mine were very tight. The old ball joints came out easily with an impact gun but getting them in was impossible. I ended up doing them by hand with a breaker bar and they slid right in. I couldn’t get them to go in straight with the impact gun. I wasted a lot of time trying. I’d recommend just doing it by hand.
This was done on a friends car which he no longer has. I personally don’t think it does much. I say that also knowing people will be upset with me. But without tunnel data then I’m always skeptical.
Facebook market place and just waiting… that’s what it took for me. :/ The dune racer I think can be found new, I even found one on accident at the curb for someone’s trash. Snagged it up for parts. Grave Digger, yeah, it’s hard to find when it comes available new and sells quick on marketplace.
Any advice for the AeroCatch 3. Can’t wrap my head around it. Some sites have them for $90-$300+. Regardless if it’s for one or a set. The price is well scattered. Any help?
There are many fakes!!! Be very very careful who you buy from. Even AMAZON has been infiltrated with fakes. DriftHQ is an authorized dealer and can be trusted. I’m sure the big automotive sites if they have them can as well. But I personally would avoid a Google search as there are many fakes out there.
The dash is a MOTEC C127, I believe you need to run a MOTEC system for it to work. The backup camera is a GoPro 3+ through HDMI to a very high resolution and bright monitor from Amazon. Desview R7II Camera Field... www.amazon.com/dp/B09N7Y83G1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
