Happy you like it, thank you. I won't be doing this in A Few Minutes of Fun, I think. This would be more of a paid-for class kind of project. And even then, I never expect to re-create the same thing twice, especially several years later! It would need some fresh inspiration and a fresh look... You can see the brick texture in one of my other videos - I can add a link here if you can't track it down! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Such a great recycle project d’art! Bravo. I will give them a try and may add the Paper Artsy Mattints for a lovely glow finish. For a holiday vibe, you could even sprinkle some Epsom salts along the jar onto glue of course. I have always wanted to try that. It would create a frosty glow, don’t you think? Thanks.😊
I think you should definitely try that... sounds like a great way to get a frosted finish. And yes, the Mattints always add a magical glow. Watch out this week for some fabulous new colours!! Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely thoughtful comment.
I love the moon masks (as you can tell from all those creations in the introduction!)... very happy you enjoyed seeing the tags come to life. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Absolutely beautiful, Alison! I really enjoy your videos, you have such a way of teaching. I have been a scrapbooker & card maker for over 20 years and you are still teaching me how to do so many new things. I guess I’m never too old for to quit learning! Thank you!
I'm so happy to hear you are still discovering things... and yes, I don't think we can ever know everything. I hope to keep learning all my days! Thanks so much for watching and for all your lovely comments.
So happy that you are enjoying what you find here. There are lots of flip throughs of various journals available in the Books Books Books series - take a look here... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TYqLY1mSDsI.html Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
I love so much your choise of golors! So many beautiful papers 🤍💙🤎 Have you ever tried with watercolors (in tubes) on your gel press? I did it, the result is not bad, it's interesting. An upcoming vidéo may be...😉
Most of my watercolour tubes are too expensive for me to want to use them on a gel plate! But it's interesting to hear about. If I see some cheap ones on sale I'll have a think about it... Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
I love these gorgeous lanterns 😍 it was very inspirational to see you make it and to see all the other ones! They look so magical with the flickering lights🔥 thanks Alison and have a wonderful sunday❣️
Thanks Alison for another wonderful video. You did a wonderful job explaining the differences between ink and oxide as well as the substrate. I could watch you all day! Hope you are having a crafty day!
Beautiful!! I have been working on somewhat similar jars for fall and Christmas. I just love the candle light thru them. I love your idea of the wire handles! I will have to try that on mine :)
They are all beautiful! 🤩 Now I see myself making Christmas gifts for my family… just need to find some empty jars that haven’t already been sent to recycling…
Perfect - they will make wonderful gifts. Hope you'll find plenty of jars to go around, and have lots of fun making them. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
@@w0rdsandp1ctures Didn’t find jars, but old glasses we were planning to give to charity, now they are being up cycled instead! I made two lovely lanterns already today 😊 so huge thanks for the inspiration!
Very happy you you enjoyed seeing the process. The mixed media ones are on the list for filming, as you're not the only one who wants to see that! Maybe some wintry ones some time next month...

Hello Alison… Beautiful Jars! My sister and I were just talking about trying to do something similar with some large-ish canisters that she got but they’re plastic not glass so I was thinking the fake tea lights would work and/or the TH tiny lights… Thanks for sharing your creativity and inspiration… enjoy the rest of your weekend! =)
Another stunning project 😍😍😍 I haven't done this in years and happen to have brand new collage paper. Guess where it's going to be used now! Glossy accents is still around 😊
Just thought of bringing my jars finally to the recycling area and now I am glad that I didn't find the time so far 🙃 Beautiful laterns and great idea as a gift. Thank you for showing us. They are all so awesome.
Oh good... happy to hear you haven't just got rid of a lot of jars - now they can have a really beautiful second life. And yes, perfect as gifts. I hope you'll have lots of fun playing. Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely comment.
So VERY inspired by your beautiful candle jars.. or are they faerie lanterns..✨🧚♀️✨ I’ll never have to actually think “what to do” with an empty jar for quite some time after today✨🤗✨
Brilliant... faerie lanterns will do very nicely - especially those summer ones when they're out in the garden. There will probably be a video for the mixed media versions (maybe a wintry one) some time next month. Hope you'll have lots of fun playing with all your empty jars in the meantime! Thanks as always for all your lovely comments.
These are simple beauty! I love the way that you used the tissue and wire. I made 30 or 40 leaves after watching your earlier video. This is a perfect use for them. Our winters are very long and our days short in Alberta so candlelight is a beautiful blessing. Thanks always for such a beautiful tutorial. 🤗🇨🇦🤗 Elizabeth
Absolutely - candles are a very important part of winter as it gets dark very early here (and light very early too, but I'm not much of an early bird at the moment, so I can't make the most of that!). I'm so happy you had fun with the leaves, and I hope you'll be lighting the winter nights with lots of altered candle jars soon. Thank you so much, as always, for your company on this creative journey.
What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning. Looking forward to trying this and I’d love to see a video on how you do the candle jars with mixed media.
So happy to hear you enjoyed it, and I hope you'll have lots of fun playing with the ideas here. The mixed media ones are on the list for filming, as you're not the only one who wants to see that! Maybe some wintry ones some time next month... Thanks for watching and commenting.
As always, I’m amazed by your creative imagination🤗 Such a beautiful piece in every way, I would love more of a peek into your creations, memberships can be a wonderful place of community. Grateful for you sharing this🤗
Thank you so much for those warm words, Sheila - very much appreciated. I'm still musing on memberships and what I would like to offer as extras to those who sign up. Lots to work on for 2025!!
Thank you so much Alison, I really really enjoyed watching you create those two candle jars. Absolutely love ❤❤❤❤❤❤ all of them. And I love ❤❤❤❤ your way of thinking and working too. And when you’ve lit up those candles jars, they look absolutely beautiful and amazing too. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags
Well, first I would have to film one... all of those mixed media ones were made years before I started any filming for RU-vid. That's what I was asking in the video, whether people are interested in that. I guess you are!!
