@@rennymusic4460 the same actor can be in two different roles in two soaps or one soap opera look at Todd he played Darren before the actor took on Todd
Ken's first wife Valerie Barlow died from an electric shock from a faulty plug socket in the short-lived apartment block that had replaced the Mission Hall, and it had nothing to do with sleeping tablets. Ken's second wife, Janet Barlow, came back to his house after they had already separated and gone their separate ways, and she then took an overdose whilst there. The Simon who died on 25th December 1999 was barely a character, and the boy playing the role wasn't even credited. The death was basically just a rather macabre writers device to bring Weatherfield General's omnipresent nurse, Martin Platt, and another nurse, Rebecca, together in Xmas day hospital-storeroom-based physical relations, if you get my drift. The Paul Connor who was stillborn is clearly not the grown man in the photo. Paul Connor who was the grown man died following a car crash, then a while later his brother's wife, Maria, was pregnant with a son that was then stillborn and got named Paul Connor in memory of the man. The three deaths in December 2010 all happened in the live episode on 9th December (not 6th December), the exact 50th anniversary of the soap's first episode. There was also a fourth death in that episode, in that a police officer was heard confirming that a taxi driver who had been driving past on the other side of the viaduct had also died.
Don't want to be that guy but you missed dot, peggy, ethel, tina and sylvie (tina and shirleys mum). Just checked the wiki while writing, you got all of these off of that didn't you? Edit: Yup, according to that list Arthur was the 3rd character to die, he was actually the 26th (if you include characters like eric mitchell who are mentioned but never appeared on screen before they died).
Plus they missed out Ida Barlow who was run over by a bus and David Barlow who was killed in a car accident whilst living in Australia as was his son Darren!
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m5xxJ-Im5Zo.htmlsi=CXW1u08618c5PpqQ You missed out Lynn Johnson, who was beaten to death by her husband Ron in January 1975.
Really shows how much more dramatic the show has become in the last 25 years or so. Before that there was maybe one death every two years and you'd go for years without anyone dying - whereas these days it's like 5 deaths a year sometimes!
Hi Vicki you seemed to have missed Edna Gee of this list? she was in the show from 1971 to 1975 and was Ivy tilsley best mate she passed away in the fire at the mark brittain warehouse in 1975! ...just an observation is all as she had an onscreen death when opeing the door to were the fire was in a storeroom she got killed instantly by the fire getting oxygen when she opend the door and the fire burst right out at her! so she should have been inbetween Valery barlow and earnest bishop in the video!
It was janet barlow who overdosed on sleeping pills. Val was getting ready for her farewell party at rovers as her and ken were meant to be going abroad
and Just to say, if in the series "once upon a time" peter pan had been a nice, I'm sure than his relationship with wendy would have been the true love
