Both have their advanatges/trade-offs. I prefer the regular since it has the extra bulk for matchups against ferrothorn and isn't as threatened by fast move pressure. The shadow does output insane damage and have a better matchup against azu tho so it's all a preference
ASlash is actually a neutral lead and not a hard counter lead because if you bait with the dragon claw, you now actually win both the 1 and 2 shield scenarios with scorching sands since you win cmp. If you decide not to bait and full send the scorching sands both times. you then want to swap into the azu to try and catch their third ice punch. As for skarmory, I swap into azu right away
Il use him turt and gstunfisk and it's a banger of a team. Also sometimes I'll use slurpuff with the grass fairy fire moveset . Very nice. Underrated. Lucario is used too much and azu as well. Sometimes I'll run melmetal. I like him over magnezone.
@@bromersh1 Regular ferro is just generally better due to the bulk, but if you do run the shadow, you’ll need to properly get down the undercharge in the ash matchup to take full advantage of it :)
If it's a swampert lead, that's a very good matchup for the dragonair and you can actually no shield a move if it's only a hydro cannon and still take switch, but if they build up to a potential eq at all, then you need to respect it with a shield. For swampert in the back, I actually recommend changing lanturn to water gun to help with the mud bois, especially post spark nerf.
@@KPine that’s been a really useful tip! Thank you, but now I’m running into trouble with Azumaril, would you say I should move back to spark to deal with this or no?
@@RobbJohnn Water gun lanturn generally has more play onto the current meta than spark does. With that said, I’d typically recommend sticking with water gun. If you feel like you are seeing a significant amount of azus to justify spark then I could see the change to it, but otherwise, I’d stick with water gun
I just seen someone lead with this pokemon & they were able to charge attack me with body slam literally maybe one or two seconds after the match started. I find it really hard to believe that my Greedent would work the same way if i add candy to it. Pretty sure a lot of people cheat on this game.
I have not heard of that type of cheating being a thing gbl. I think it's more likely you lagged at the start/got put into battle late and they unfortunately got a couple of mud shots for free
It'sAXN has done a video recently of Obstagoon lead, I don't think I have won a battle yet against an Obsta lead with this team. I swap gligar and they usually swap out, I'm then left with a Jelly or Greedent against Obsta. I can tank a night slash on Jelly and I try to chip it with surfs but it really doesn't get me anywhere
@@Sam18C Goon leads are tough but actually very doable. Since you’re ABA weak to them you need to stay in with the greedent. If your greedent is high enough ranked, you can actually reach three body slams before they’re able to reach a cross chip and farm down. This means that you’ll either force a shield from them, or cause them to throw a second move in order to deny your third body slam. Once the greedent goes down, you’ll want to come in with the gligar. At this point the greedent gets the obstagoon low enough where it’s even manageable for the jellicent. If your greedent isn’t high enough ranked where once they land that cross chop they can then farm you down before you reach three body slams, you’ll then want to pivot into the gligar after you land the second body slam.
@@KPine Thank you sir! I really really want to try Greedent, as it looks very fun, but I think I will wait for a better one. My current team for Remix performs well so far, so I think I can make it work.
I'm knocking on the door of Veteran thanks to this team (climbed from 2200's) Couple of problems I have 1) This team just loses to grasshole (Basti, Vic and Tropius)which I'm sadly seeing at Veteran rank at this stage in the season 2) Mudboi leads are difficult 3) Wiggly lead, insta swap into Poliwrath and opponent has annihilape in the back. Licki really struggles to overcome annihilape. But swapping into my own Wiggly (which my opponent wants) seems the only correct play
Glad the team has treated you well so far! Grasshole teams are hard to overcome. You counterswap the licki into their shadow Vic and hope they let you keep switch. If they take swap it’s unfortunately over but if you have a high enough ranked licki you can actually achieve a bulk point against their razor leafs to win the 2s. Mud boi leads you instantly swap into the licki. And with that third team, you one shield the wiggly after bringing it into the poli and farm it all the way down. Then you icy wind their wiggly and continue to charm. After their poli is gone and their wiggly is low enough from your own. Lanturn and licki should be able to handle the rest as licki does well enough into the ape (unless it’s a licki slayer ape).
This is the first time I've watched one of your videos, and I have to say that I really appreciate your explanations and commentary! Very concise and very useful too.
At 05:50 you mention DRE, what is this? I've never come across this term before and google does not tell me anything. Would love ot know your Licki IV's as well, some of those matches seemed so close! Especially against shadow Gatr
You can try Vigoroth instead of Lickitung but it may not bait out the steel types you want it to and annihilape counter swaps would be very bad. There is really no “true” replacement for licki but your closest would probably be greedent
Seriously wish players would create there own team n rise too the tops instead of teams like this one... everyone seems too run this team wow is it boring...grats on making the leaderboard I'm not a hater just tired of copy n paste teams that take no thought because 1,000s of people use same teams are almost same.. I'm running scrafty, electric fast move steelix, and rank one magical leaf victeebell... I've had my scrafty destroy 2 teams today by himself lol with just counter n power up punch ..azu hates my team and anyone running it most the time top lefts...I never run electric fast on steelix but need something for those flyers n this works better then one might think
Sounds like a fun team you are using! I actually put together this team at the very beginning of the season myself, so if others are running it too then that’s new to me :)
