One of the originators of the "Bakersfield Sound, along with Cliffie Stone, Buck Owens, Ferlin Huskey (known as Terry Preston at the time), Freddie Hart and Don Rich (who played both Fiddle and Guitar) for Buck Owens and sang harmony on most of Buck's early records. He was killed in a motorcycle accident and Buck took a long time to recover from the death. Of course there were Ralph Mooney and others that played in the Buckaroos, Heartbeats, and Wynn Stewart's grand.

My husband and I were good friends with Carmol. A very wonderful person. Same old Carmol everytime you saw him. I sang with him at the Corral Club in Tupelo,Ms. during the late 60's an 70's many Nights. He taught me a lot. I went on to have a .gospel Group called Saving Grace and remained there til my husband died. Was glad to find this site,bro't back a lot of memories. RIP Carmol
