I've always set up the device within the parameters shown on the screen. It's nice to see that there is quite a lot of leeway on the positioning. Thanks for checking that out, interesting. I guess setting up the gun and the garmin and not moving either through the number of sessions is best. I reckon a guy could make a jig to position the gun stand and the garmin for accuracy over different range days. Had to write down your measurements and convert them to imperial to get my brain to understand, lol.
I'm glad it's useful for you. As far as I understand, it keeps track of it's position relative to the muzzle for every shot. So there should be flexibility to move around in the 1x1 meter envelope (I think).
It will detect shot up to 1 meter behind the muzzle. Based on a very small sample, I found indications that both accuracy and precision degrades in some seemingly random positions. See research.baso.dk/python/garmin_xero_c1_placement.html
Hello. I have a question regarding the setting of the Garmin Xero C1 radar. Is it possible to set the measurement in meters per second in the settings? (m/s)? Thank you for answer.
@@ClausBoHansen Hello. Thank you for answer. I hope to get to him as soon as possible. It is not available in the EU, so I ordered it in the US. Unfortunately, the delivery time is 5-8 weeks, and then who knows how long it will take to get from the USA to my house. Anyway, I'm looking forward to it.
I ordered one on 10/19/23. Garmin website said available to ship in 2-3 days. Charged my credit card immediately. Now they say cannot ship for at least 6 weeks. Will not reverse credit card charge until it ships. Just so you know…
Some others have tested and found that if you put it out past the recommended distances you will find that it picks up shot and gives speed but it is not accurate as they moved it around and compared its results to lab radar.
There is a reason Garmin has a diagram of the Xero placement. Im sure within there extensive testing they found the location they say to place it is the best and most accurate.
Shoot it at a busy range and will see. With many rifle having muzzle break, this garmin pick up shoot from other shooters gun. It has no provision for and external trigger. As it is, it’s only for the lonely shooter nor for range use -pistol & rifle.
That's an interesting thing to investigate. I'll find some time next week and test how far away from silencer/brake/bare it picks up the shot. I'll be back with another video on the this topic.
According to the press release this unit doesn’t use sound to activate, and as such is not impacted by other shooters brakes or suppressor use. It also supposedly can recognize which projectile originated from near the unit and filter out other projectiles that enter the doppler field from impacting the measurement. It also can recognize other garmin units in the vicinity and change frequency to allow non-interference with multiple in use on a shooting line. It sounds like they definitely thought about use on a busy range. Definitely something to test out.
There are videos of it being used in a busy range situation with other shooters also testing it out at the same time and there seems to have been no issues.
All the testing proves you incorrect. They tested it extensively with multiple shooters on either side and it never picked up stray shots from other shooters.
Thank you for posting this! I am currently on the waiting list for my surgery. Trust me, a lot of German Doctors / Neurologists also told me it‘s asymptomatic. I‘m just imagining the pain, it‘s not there! „You‘re Young. You don’t want to work, that‘s all.“ - I thought I‘m going crazy. I found the Vigdis Thompson Foundation and my hope is finally back! I am scared, yes. But I cannot wait to get this surgery! Thank you so much for this video! xx
Thank you for this Video, i am also a Tarlov Cyst patient and had surgery at Zwickau. Professor Warnke gave me my life back, we have to show the world this disease is REAL, the pain is REAL to end years of suffering and dispair till its finally diagnosed!
Hello, tell me please, what calibers are popular in the PRS discipline in Norway and in Europe in general? which ones do you personally use? your favourite?
Hi Mashur, I’m not shooting PRS regularly, so I’m not a good source. I have seen 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5x55 quite a bit on the range. I shoot 6.5 Creedmoor for long range. I also have a couple of 30.06, but those I only use for hunting bigger game. 6.5 Creedmoor is relatively new to me (18 months), I’m very happy with. That feeling might be somewhat influenced by the S20, which is amzing and affordable at the same time.
@@ClausBoHansen Thank you for your answer , I recently purchased my first rifle which is a Tikka T3X Varmint in cal. 6.5x55 very happy with it! Hello from Kazakhstan 👋
@@mashur7465 Congratulations! It’s a great and historical caliber here in the Nordics where I live😁 6.5 CM is very similar, but fits in 308 type action and magazine.
Does Anybody else have issues seeing the arrows pointing during reticle alignment? I got in a dark room, put my glasses on, tried to dim and brighten. I just had a tough time with that part.
I just bought the A1i Pro. The range finder was giving crazy ranges. Garmin wanted me to send it back. My Burris Oracle had no issues with the range finder. It was super accurate.
