My 2010 ford f150 5.4 liter has a flood mode, you just hold gas petal down and turn key, it will not start up until you let off the gas, I watch the starter redistribute the new oil through the engine and filter, when guage goes up I let of gas petal and fires up at an idle, 600 rpms
I have a Chevy and 4wheel auto works like you say. What im wondering is when i push the button to 4L or 4H the transfer case engages and i get the steering wheel feeling and gear feeling of 4L and 4H but the front wheels aren't spinning. They only spin with it in Auto 4x4. Basically i havent been able to be in 4L . But the dash button works and tcmotor shifts and works . Any ideas is this normal or is there somthing wrong in the front diff . I think i hear then lock but obviously they arnt locked 🔒. Is this normal
I have a GMC Denali Ultimate. Bumping wheel size down from 22” to 20” stock GM rims. Hoping the size won’t rub on a 2500 Denali. Discount tire in the morning. 🤞🏻
Both are great tires. The weight kept me away from the wild peaks.. they’re considerably heavier than the Toyo. (Wear breaks faster and worse fuel mileage)
I get 15mpg running around. 17 highway and 10 towing. I didn’t want to deal with def and the new emissions stuff. Also the gas has a way higher payload. If I were to get a duramax I would get a 3500.
They’re 3 peak rated 10 ply, e rated with a 2 ply + a heat dispersion material on the side wall. They’re not a traditional mud terrain 3-ply carcus like a hybrid tire would be or a mud terrain. I use them light off road with no issues. If you’re wheeling with a heavy duty truck I would go with a bfg heavy terrain or Toyo rt. Where these shine is low road noise, great wear, and snow performance.
These are 35’s. A 35 x12.5 right next to it is the same height my friends own a tire shop, I just stayed with these as they are narrower (better in the snow).
Thanks for the great run down. I'd appreciate it if you could send me the gpx file but didn't see a way to private message on youtube. Please advise, thanks Mark.
Thanks for a great review of your trip on the CPPAT. I love the fact that you had your dad and daughter along for the adventure. You are making memories for a lifetime! Safe travels and Happy Adventures!
I wouldn't say the factory are horrible in the snow, ran them all last winter here in Alaska and they did surprisingly well. What do you think of the Toyo's?
Toyos are the best. The difference here in the northeast is that the snow freezes and thaws many times a day/week and creates a mess. These Toyos far exceed the stock tires.
Very nice setup. I have a 2021 2500 SLT x31 gasoline. Wonder if the height is the same as the AT4 version. I want to go with 285/65/20 as well. Can’t find much accurate info on it.
Need so.e clarification. I just called Bilstein about the front shocks and they told me that you must have a 1.5 inch lift/leveling kit in order to use on a 2024 gmc sierra 2500. They are even advertised as such on their website. Obviosly they worked on your 2024. Any thoughts or do you think tech rep at bilstein was just reading off the notes posted on website. It states " for 1.5 lift" unlike the rears that state " for trucks with 0-1.5 lift" . Thoughts?
Yeah I messed up a couple of the “steels” the manufacturers like to put the model numbers instead of the steel type sorry about that guys. None the less. I enjoy buying American no matter the cost. I try not to support cheap quality foreign made stuff.
Leek is model #1660, the stainless is actually sandvik 14C28N which while cheaper than some, holds an edge really well. This is my favorite “budget” knife around, and isn’t too big to draw attention. Nice collection!
Great video and very helpful. How do you think they will hold up towing? I pull a small 24ft rv. About 7k lbs total. Have you towers with the new shocks ?
I have towed a 14k lb camper, 8k lb camper and 7500lb boat and these shocks are the ticket. They work fantastic, best upgrade you can do for the money on these trucks. If I buy another one I’ll put these on at zero miles.
Do you leave the connector in all the time or do you remove it when parked? Wondering how safe it would be to leave it in 24x7. I feel like someone might grab it if it's unsecured. Awesome hack though. I never would've thought of that.
They’re very cheap, so even if someone takes it I bought a pack that had 2 of them… it really helps not having to turn my head or strain while merging into traffic.
Just picked up my '24 HD AT4 today. Thanks for your videos. Very helpful for sure. I'm of the same mindset that extended oil change intervals will not help your truck last. I only put about 6,500 miles a year on my trucks and change my oil at least every 6 months or 3-4k miles. I'd rather change it early than leave the oil in there too long. Anyway, thanks for sharing the tips and your experiences.
I agree, great oil! I only run non-ethanol in my small engines i agree. The ethanol causes all kinds of issues. even if i have to run ethanol fuel in the bikes on a ride or trip, I drain it out when i get back and re-fill with non-ethanol.
they're holding up well. i am at 3500 miles on them now, and the 1/32 wear indicator just scrubbed off on all tires. So at this rate i'll get 42k out of them which is fantastic for my driving. (not much highway)
