Watching your video this afternoon while I worked on my beading project was so inspirational! So many lovely finishes, so many beautiful WIPs, I'm not sure I could pick a favorite. Maybe meowy Lisa? Happy stitching! 💖
Hi Melva, I’m Pam, it’s so nice to ‘meet’ you, I’ve just watched your first flosstube and thoroughly enjoyed it! I’m so glad the algorithm popped it onto my page and now I’m looking forward to watching your other instalments! I’m like you, love a monthly stitch, though being in Scotland makes it a challenge as most July charts are Independence Day themed! I’m fascinated to see that you’ve got a chart laying out all the sheep virtues plus the centre designs, I’ve never seen that before although I know that they must exist! I’ve got all the charts and plan to stitch them as you are, however I keep putting it off because I know I’ll need to chart out what goes where and I just keep chickening out! I’m so sorry you were involved in such a traumatic and life changing accident. Please forgive me for being nosey, and absolutely feel free to ignore me, but I was wondering if you have any residual pain from your injuries that impact your stitching? I have a whiplash injury from an accident plus have had two frozen shoulders that haven’t completely resolved and I find that sometimes I get so much pain that I can’t continue stitching, which drives me nuts. All I want to do is play with my needle and thread but just get frustrated and sulk like a toddler! I’m a Star Wars fan and I’ve never seen that kit before, it’s fantastic! The photo in the kit doesn’t do it justice, those colours are so vibrant and pop amazingly! You have some really fantastic WIPs, I love how you embrace different styles. I’m an eclectic stitcher too, though there’s some whimsy in most of my choices if I’m honest! Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and tell you how much I appreciated your flosstube, as I said before, I’m really looking forward to catching up on the others.
@@DitsyDaisyCrafts hello Pam! So nice to meet you. Thank you for your kind comment. My husband and I have been to Scotland and enjoyed it so much. We did a cruise last June. I think I still have the layout for the sheep virtues so if you want to email me I can send it to you. My email is stitchingwithmelva@gmail.com Thankfully I can still stitch after the accident. My pain is mostly in my legs, chest and neck. I did 9 months of Physio in the pool and getting needles. It is like acupuncture but the needle doesn’t stay in you. It helps to release the muscles. I had it done in my neck and back. It has truly been a game changer and has taken me from an 8 out of 10 on the pain scale to a 2 or 3. I would look into getting some Physio for your pain. It is amazing what they can do now. Thanks again for reaching out. I love meeting people from around the world. Cross stitch is such a wonderful hobby full of wonderful people.
@@StitchingwithMelva thank you so much for your lovely reply! I’ll drop you an email later this weekend as we’re out and about today. Hope you have a lovely stitchy weekend!
Fabulous video, you’ve certainly been busy. Love all your finishes and wips, I really need to add the Barbara Ana one to my list to buy. Have a great week and happy stitching.
@@teresapatterson1253 thank you for your kind comment. There are so many beautiful stocking kits and patterns out there it will be hard to choose just one.
My heart is with you…my pup is 15 years old and know that some day I will lose my stitchy friend. Melva, would you like to be part of Canada Swaps? Our first exchange is being arranged right now and it would be lovely to include you. So lovely to find someone who likes beading as much as I do.🦉🧵🇨🇦
First time watcher here. I stopped by because I saw your Santa stocking and I very seldom see anyone stitching something I've stitched. Then there you are stitching the Nativity stand ups which I've also done. Having 2 senior cats my sympathy goes out to you. Take care.😢
@@KayeTaylorE wow - that is so awesome that you have done those projects. It gives me hope that I can get them done. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Your finishes are so beautiful - your Nora Corbett is stunning. I love your monthly little calendar girls and I'm going to have to look those up and perhaps add them into my future plans. Your Santa stocking is looking amazing. Thank you for sharing a really great stitching update and look forward to seeing you next time.
I am so pleased that lovely stitchers popped over to see you. You are going to enjoy having a cross stitch program and yes, I took ten minutes a day to mark the stitches already done so I could set aside the paper completely. Your trip to Jasper sounds lovely.
That is a great idea to do just 10 minutes a day to mark off the stitches. My husband and I love Jasper and we are so lucky to be close to the mountains.
I’m so glad I found your Flosstube! It’s great to see all of your projects. I love listening to you…your voice is very calm and soothing. I think you should have been a librarian.😊 I too am a crazy cat lady. I have 5 cats that live with me. 😮 Looking forward to seeing more videos of your projects.
Hello to a fellow cat lady. Thank you for your kind comment. I use to be a social worker so I had to learn to talk slower. In my younger days I was loud and hyper. I’m so happy you found me and that you are here.
Hi Melva, I was watching the Stitching Owl and she recommended your channel and I'm sure glad that she did. I'm so glad to support a fellow Canadian flosstuber and I also live in Edmonton. I very much enjoyed seeing your wip parade. You sure are a prolific stitcher and have such a lovely array of projects. I very much enjoyed your video and look forward to your next. Thank you so much for sharing your time and your beautiful stitching.
Hi Lorraine! Thank you so much for your kind words and support. It is a little bit scary to put your work on display and just hope that people like it. So fun that you are from Edmonton as well. 💕
Welcome to floss tube I am another Canadian stittcher that is here because Karen the Stitching Owl shouted out. I am always thrilled to follow another Canadian.
Hope you had a amazing birthday 🎂 My birthday is in April too but I couldn’t start my birthday stitch ( The mother tree by Lavender and Lace ) because I’m waiting for some hand dyed fabric 😢
We are birthday month twins! I hate when you are so excited to stitch a project but are forced to wait for materials. I hope that fabric comes soon for you. Thanks so much for the birthday wishes and for watching.
Welcome to flosstube from another Canadian flosstuber. I am so excited for you and think you have a fabulous video. It will be great fun to watch your stitching progress.
Thank you for your nice comment. I’m excited to see another Canadian here! Where in Canada are you from? I grew up in Saskatoon but moved to Edmonton after I got my degree from U of R.
@@StitchingwithMelva I live in London…I can text Evertote that I need a colour and go pick it up. It is quite the privilege. May I ask if you know Lisa, Lost in Stitches and how she is doing? I am deeply worried.
Hi Melva! I live in Edmonton, too! I stitch on Aida, mostly 18 count but I also stitch on 14 and 16 count, too. My taste in patterns is eclectic but size wise, I am drawn to larger projects. Enjoyed your parade of lovely projects! 🌸🪡
Thank you for your kind comment. I attend a stitching group that meets twice a month in St Albert. Let me know if you are interested and I’ll give you the name of the Facebook group.
Welcome! I sent a comment earlier but don't see it here. I stitched the same nativity charts as you are and I also made them into stand-ups. I have made the Holy Family and 3 Wise Men, camels and animals as stand-ups too 4:06 . I'd be happy to share pics of my set and happy to help walk you through finishing them. Happy stitching!
Oh, Melva! What a delight it was to stumble across your video!! Not gunna use the word, cuz I don't stitch Mill Hill's, but a HUGE warm 'that word' to you!! Can't wait to come along with you on your flosstube journey!! You're a joy to watch, & I bet you'll reach the 1k subscriber milestone in the blink of an eye because of it!!
