I'm a bike racer in North Texas and a 38 year old dad of 2 that's happily married with a very full time job. Around 2005-2011 I raced multiple Ironmans which led me into ultra running where I completed multiple 100 mile runs. Somehow I'm now back to my first love, cycling. Sometimes I think I should take cycling more seriously, but until then I'm gonna keep doin what I do! When I started bike racing again I learned a TON from watching race videos, so I've decided to create my own to help out more folks with unfiltered honest commentary! I also like to review different products that I've tried over time hoping I can help people not make some of the poor decisions I've made over the years. I also love Jesus and if you have any questions about that feel free to ask!
Hey man, are you coming up to do the BT Epic in October? It's one of the best races out there and more flowy than the Ouchita Challenge. If you can make it - I highly recommend it. One of the best in the area.
Sick T-shirt! Man is living this cycling influencer lifestyle to the max now. Let the frames and wheelsets roll in. 🙏 They work pretty good, just slowly and loud as shit and get toasty. I got one for free as well and they are nice but I would wait until they get cheaper yet or order direct from China a hundo is a bit much to drop for the amount I ever need a pump, but they are slick if you do have a use case.
2:50 I've never heard of any mid-week mountain bike races. Now there's plenty of midweek road racing, there's a local crit/circuit series on a car race track that I'll be doing tomorrow.
Kid is Niko Milanovic and He is as good a kid off the bike as he is on.... Pull of him at Nationals this week as well as the other 3 HP Scots headed that way.
Important note on the crash replacement. It says on the website, that you get 50% off or something when your wheel got trashed. Which is still not too bad, but it is no 100% replacement. It only applies to carbon wheels as well. (Same as the bearing replacement) I ordered some Alloy 650B Gravel Wide++ Wheels a year ago and they got through some proper beatings and they are still true and running smooth. I went with the endurance bearings and they are still in good shape after more than 3000 km. The even soaked up some crashes without getting bent or cracked some spokes. This is why I will get a set for my roadbike very soon. Also, loud hubs are the way. Better than any bell. :)
That hat is hilarious... And crits are super stupid. crashing is part of the game. And when you have a chance to roll forward, you gotta take it. It's just safer. And you say this is cat3? I see only 5 real cat 3s, the rest are 10 minute cat 3s.
After years of racing and crashes @ Gila, Tulsa, and Fitchburg Longjo (Cat1). I changed sports (at age 40) to motorcycle racing. Just got my first helicopter ride to a Hospital. Maybe I should have race masters? maybe I should pick up golf? Good luck on your choice.
Nice race dude! Congrats! Trail riding is such a great compliment to roadie rides. You feel like such a champ with road power crushing the climbs, you get great bike handling skills to take back on the road, you typically can push the whole ride to get that HR pinned. Good times!
I get that this was a sketchy move and is definitely not okay but it’s part of racing it’s sad that yall are harassing this guy because he made a mistake. He admitted he did and apologized multiple times.
Crit racing is for people who are already missing brain cells to begin with. Just transition to gravel or another form of racing that is safer. Crit racing is just a race of natural selection honestly.
Hi I'm Landon I'm 14 and I race in the men's beginner at the DFW dorba summer series. I want to say sorry for what I did, I want everyone that races to enjoy their time on the course and finish their best. As I popped my wheel I did not notice that you were right behind me, then I hear you say on your left. I'm not perfect at doing wheelies so I can't turn that quickly, so I apologize for affecting your race like that. I usually do wheelies at the end of all of my finishes. Now I will pop my wheelies with more caution. Thanks for the video I like your stuff.😁
