Hey, just discovered your podcast, I really like your aesthetic and the skirt is AMAZING! When I went over to Ravelry to check out the pattern I was a bit underwhelmed. I really like your midi version and it seems to me that with a garment that must move with your hips and butt, a yarn with more memory than just cotton is going to look better. Great choice!
Thank you!!! Watching how the yarn combo knit up definitely added to the fun of the piece as well! I was originally going to go for a cotton linen yarn for the skirt but I wasn’t feeling it. Happy with the way it ended up turning out ☺️
HI GIRLLL 💗 honestly!!! My brain can’t take 10 things at once. I stress too easily 😂 the diamond mohair is very thick! I wouldn’t even call it mohair. Definitely more light fingering weight yarn to me. It’s really smooth and plushy. But I’m not sure if I would buy it again 🤔
Great podcast! Love the in depth information on each of your knits, your swatches are so interesting to look at. I'd love to your favorite yarns to use, I'm super sensitive too and we seem very similar (mohair is itchy, alpaca is even worse, and even heavy merino is itchy to me!)
Omggg yayyy so glad we can relate!! At this point my go to is Sandnes Garn Babyull (literal baby yarn 😂) it’s my favvvvv. Great colour selection too. I’m planning to just use up all my mohair in stash on a vest as a layering piece.
It’s so much fun!!! It was really hard for me to find test knit opportunities at first! I applied to a few but none of them selected me. Then one day I got accepted to a piece that I was super excited about and the others just eventually followed!!
For in between for test knits. I like the feeling of being in a community with other knitters but I’ve noticed that I don’t always want to stick to the pattern. I make adjustments to my preference 😅 also I hate short deadlines but it makes me finish a project then put away because I hate weaving in my ends 😂 I’m glad you find test knitting enjoyable
I love that you customize your knits!! And yess I agree, I would be lying if I said these deadlines haven’t kept me up some nights 😅 but they do give me the pressure I need to finish up the knits!! I also hate weaving in ends so I totally get that 😭 thank you sm for watching and coming back to my channel 💗
When you said you usually frog part of your project. It reminded me why I stopped doing testknits. Depending on the design, I just make adjustments to make certain mistakes blend in or I frog it back too. 😅
Omg so true. If it were a personal knit and depending on the mistake I could just accept it and make it “uniquely mine” ahaha. I need to learn to do that more often 😅
I have never seen your videos before and as soon as you started speaking I was like this girl is Canadian. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s from Toronto (area) then you mentioned the gta and my head snapped up so fast. Will definitely be checking out that yarn shop. Thank you 😂❤
Great video, the sweater looks great on you!❤ Random question, I noticed you knit with your watch on ( if it’s an Apple Watch), do you have the issue of it counting your knitting as steps? I noticed when I have mine on and I’m knitting, it thinks I’m walking, when in reality I’m a couch potato 😂😂🤣🤣😂
Thank YOU!! 💗💗 also what a great point. I’ve never noticed or thought about that!! I’m gonna have to note down my steps before and after knitting on the couch next time to find out 🤔
@@CNDVL 🤣😂I thought it was just my watch but I guess not. I’ve tried googling how to stop it from counting the movements but no luck as at now. If I figure it out I’ll let you know.
Hope you guys enjoyed this video!! Let me know if you’ve been to Nippori Fabric Town before or if you have any suggestions on where I should visit next time I’m there!! 💗
A tip for combatting a tight CO is to hold your needles together and do the CO around both needles and then pull one out! It has helped me loads achieve both a neater and looser CO that's easier to knit up from :)
Love your enthusiasm and how adventurous you are. [think said before but love your cat 🥰]. I am doing the Moby Slipover for my granddaughter - about to rip back a fair bit as I saw a mistake😢. Also several baby cardigans for a friend and a blanket got my grand-dog. I had 2 large balls of acrylic yarn so it’s a good way to use up as doggo likes to be warm! Happy knitting 🧶 😊
Ahh thank you thank you 💕 the Moby slipover is beautiful!! And I know how that feels, I always end up doing at least one large frog because I find a mistake I made a while ago or I simply just don’t read the pattern properly! 😅 you’ll have to keep me updated on the baby cardigans!! Would love to do more baby knits myself this year too ☺️ happy knitting!!
I hope you are enjoying these monthly check ins (although I'm a bit late this month)!! Let me know what you're knitting at the moment, I'd love to know and get some ideas on what to knit next!! 💛
