ABOUT THE WILD SONNETS There are now over 600 Wild Sonnets. I started writing this series of poems eight years ago as a self-defined and personal mission to create a variation of the sonnet that was innovative, unique, modern and mine. The six published volumes feature 100 poems each - and I am in the process of writing the seventh book now. ABOUT THE WILD SONNET FORM The Wild Sonnet takes the 14 lines of the sonnet and divides them into two stanzas of seven lines, each capped with a rhyming couplet. The five preceding lines are allowed to ramble and stray from the iambic and pentameter which is the norm for the form. This is what makes them wild.

Ironically, I have a recent poem slated for the new book (The Wild Sonnets: Volume VII) which recounts a pair of sightings of impressive birds, both of which happened on the same day. How does man six decades in appear before his parents who have passed . Did they when holding in their cradled arms my mewling infancy imagine I would be eldered in their absence , creature so heavy with faults, history of fly and fail , a beast whose pride behind him follows like tail . I did believe they felt moment blessed to have me - inchling full of promise ,though only hour old and many days and years before I’d know feeling faculties of sight and speech , and many more until seventh sense of how I might fufill promise of that ancient moment. I just read that British playwright George Bernard Shaw wrote short comedy play dark lady of sonnets to encounter Queen Elizabeth and attempts to persuade her to create national theatre by 1916 . In sonnet 154 Cupid falls asleep and torch is taken by most beautiful nymph who tries to put it out in nearly well but doesn’t not succeed . Drawing from both effect to these actions performed by both nymphs , both sonnets arrive at same conclusion ( water can’t quench love ). 154 sonnet published in 1609 covering themes such as passage of time , morality, love , beauty, infidelity. Thank you for mentioning my work in the theater and in my solo film project. I would also like to add that my stage comedy, Delirium's Daughters, ran Off-Broadway in 2015. So much of the work I am doing in The Wild Sonnets also has its roots in theater. There is often a sense of these being a monologue or soliloquy in only 14 lines.
