Welcome to my new channel guitar fans! I’m Chris Grant, a Colorado guitarist that enjoys recording classic rock and blues cover songs. Born in the early '60s, I grew up under the spell of the most revolutionary guitar players in music history. These guitar players are the ones that shaped my musical taste.
I picked up the guitar at the age of eight, inspired by many of the guitar legends I saw on the TV show Hee-Haw (Roy Clark and Chet Atkins...). Their playing motivated me to get my first classical guitar. I was then inspired by all of the awesome rock guitarists from the 60's-80's like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Eddie van Halen, Gary Moore... in my teens and twenties.
By zooming in on the intricate guitar parts of these classic songs, my hope is that you will not only enjoy listening to but also learn to play them yourself.
My backing tracks are produced using MoisesAI Track Separation technology as well as publicly available and for-purchase backing tracks.
Thank You for doing this song & posting the tuning!! I love it so much & used it in a soundtrack to a movie I made back in 2000. Never get tired of hearing it, it is so hauntingly gorgeous. & Thank You Jimmy for writing it!!
This tune has always sounded otherworldly to me. I've always imagined that if you've lived a righteous life and you believe in such a place as heaven and if the universe blesses you with a peaceful and easy death then this is the sound of what envelopes you as you make the transition and pass over into heaven.
Chop the right side of that cottage off to where there's one window on either side of the door and you have the home my mother grew up in. A family of games keepers in the Scottish highlands for several generations. There are still so many of these buildings peppered all over the isles I suppose. Lovely to see them all and in any condition.
Right on, thanks Paul! Glad to see you subscribe to the channel. I remember you well and enjoyed working with you. Hope all is well with you and your family. Do you play guitar?
There’s still good music happening today the difference is you have to go looking for it. In the 60’s or 70’s there was a glut of good music and it was delivered to you through radio and albums or tapes etc. now there are so many genres of music and so many ways to consume music you have to put more effort into finding what you want. It’s still out there it’s just not the most popular music in the states right now. Look abroad and don’t loose hope I’m sure you’ll find something you’ll love.
Thats sounded excellent. I haven't played that in decades..... kinda forgotten about. Thanks for reminding me again, i will have to see if i can do it again. I remember changing it up a bit by adding a major chord after the repetitions minor chords. Minor, minor, minor, major. I think. Brightened it up a bit from the original.
Led zeppelin used to come down from Bron-Y-Aur to Machynlleth for a Bath and a feed in the local wynnstay hotel when they were here in the 70’s .a good mate of mine was thumbing a lift to Aberystwyth when a Range Rover pulled up and planty shouted out the window “do you want a lift mate ..in the driving seat was John Bonham and jimmy page was in the back seat .planty still lives here a few months of the year near furnace .I’ve spoke to him a few times in our town when he’s shopping at the open market on a Wednesday or in the local Co/Op .a nice fella with no hairs and graces saying how famous he is .Planty made a few Videos in the 80’s at the Quarry Nr where I live in Corris …
You can read my description for the meaning. And the pronunciation seems to be different depending on who says it. You could look it up and Wikipedia and hear a different pronunciations. Also, you can listen to Gretchen Menn's rendition of the song and her lesson. She describes it in the first lesson. I won't hack this by trying to pronounce it here. ☺️
