Stephen Gauci is recognized as one of the most distinctive and enigmatic saxophonists on the New York City improvised music scene.
Gauci has performed with many of today's leading improvisers including Nels Cline, Karl Berger, Kenny Wessel, Kris Davis, Tyshawn Sorey, Daniel Carter, George Garzone, Nate Wooley, Roy Campbell Jr., William Parker, Steve Swell, Mike Bisio, Kevin Shea, Kirk Knuffke, Ingebrigt Haker Flaten, Tim Daisey, Dave Rempis.
Stephen currently resides in Brooklyn where he runs the "Bushwick Improvised Music Series" , presenting weekly concerts featuring many of today's current and future ground-breaking improvisers.
