I have tried this a couple of times but it never looks the same...now do you apply the colors? Either I'm adding to many bands or too many colors...help please

If I wanted to make it look like the Jamaican flag, aside from yellow being in the middle for the X, how could I get black on the left and right sides, and the green on the top and bottom? In other words, where would I apply the other colors?

Is there a second part to this video, as to show how she actually applied the dye?
