Like your methods. I just got a new made (Chinese as that is all that is available here in Asia) . Been watching these videos for a while and have learned what to look for. Got a good copy, poorly or possibly NOT finished. Spending time making the sliding and rotating parts smooth, as they were left in as cast condition.
@@rustytoolsua Without a doubt, you are correct. I shipped my grandfathers vise here to the island after a total refurbishment. Its a Parker 272 and has served a long hard life. This new one is for an inside desktop, or bench top indoors work area for light duty. But I chose it because it looks like a miniature version copied from an American vise I think. I think it only weighs about 12 or 13 pounds, and quite cheap here. If it breaks, I am out about 20 bucks but it should hold small stuff for filing and shaping .
A restoration video where it does not appear as though the item being restored was intentionally buried in the backyard. :) thanks for an honest video.
Good job on the head but I don’t like the burnt wood, handle finish sucks for me. Some people like it but a better finish would have been better. Don’t worry that is just what I think and just like everyone else nobodies opinion matters. Good video 👍🏻
Wow. Here we call that type of stuff "ghetto". The basic improvements that can be made on these ideas are significant. The part that pained me the most was the vertical drilling for the angled wire soldering iron bracket. If you're going to have vertical holes, you should have bent the wire straight where it goes into the holes.
